    Hey Oahu hammahs,

I’m moving up to Oahu from Kauai, and I got a 06 double cab long bed that I’m looking to have some work done to. Wondering if someone could tell me good shops/guys to install a 3 inch RC lift for me, and where to buy aftermarket wheels and tires from. And just have work done in my truck in the future. If you have any recommendations send them my way!

    mahalos in advance

I wanna go rough country cuz it’s pretty cheap for the coliover lift, and my buddy was running it on his prerunner and the ride was decent so I figure why not.

I personally think RC "SUCKS" Especially their shocks!
Install a 4" lift on my Jeep and within 3 month I took off the RC shocks and replaced the with bilsteins.

I would highly recommend Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks for your Tacoma.
RC is cheap and you definitely get what you pay for. There's a reason Toyota's come with Bilsteins shocks.
    I've had them on my 2018 Tacoma, My 2016 4Runner, my 2005 Tundra and my 2000 4Runner.
I'm running them on my 2021 Tacoma and I have no complaints.
On my 3rd gen they only gave me 2" of lift. (Thats because the 3rd gen is already .5" higher than the 2nd gen.

The 2nd gen you will get 2.5" of lift which good. The higher you go the more often you'll be changing you CV boots.

I normally get my wheels from 4WP and my tires from Servco!
Servco has a Buy 3 get one FREE deal that makes them really hard to beat on price.
I have them mounted and balanced at GoodYear. Use to have it done at Costco but they no longer do tires that they don't sell.
You can also order wheels or tires on Amazon they will ship to your door up to a 35" tire.
Or order from Tire Rack dot com and they will send it to an affiliate tire shop locally.

There's a place called discount tire that have locations near the airport and in waipahu.

I will definitely think about it! Thanks for all the help and information. Gonna do some shopping around. This truck is gonna be Pavement princess for sure. I wanna put her up on 33s/32s for the stance, and a 3 inch lift. Not looking to off-road of anything. Save that for my old school on Kauai lol.

Since it already appears you have a 2" leveling kit?
Just get yourself a nice set of wheels and 32" tires and you won't have to deal with all the BS that come's with going higher.
9" or 10" wide wheels with 32" tires will fill out the fender nicely. (Pay attention to the BS/offset) So you don't have to deal with the Safety Check Crap!
Wheels and tires are the biggest "chunk of change" when doing a lift.
If you go to 3" you'll definitely need a set of UCA's. (Not really worth it if you ask me)
But if you have your heart set on it? Check out the links in my Sig. for some good information.

    Good Luck!

I believe it does have 2” level, just bought the truck so I don’t know exactly what it has. But that’s a good idea. Do you think a 285/55r20 on 20x10s would fit ok with a 2 inch level? I’m really not well versed with 2nd gen fitment.

To be honest I think 33" tires would be pushing it on a 2" lift. Especially on 10 Wide wheels.
You would have to do a lot of trimming. (Depending on how you set up you alignment)

Well 285/55r20s come out to a 32.3 according to most tire calculators but those are all just estimates. So it’s I may just go with a 275/55r20
