what a prick! There are some good people out there though. I heard from a friend at costco that someone came in when they opened the doors and grabbed a case of water for someone who couldn't make it back there quick enough, like elderly or handicap. Then I foud on CL someone giving away 200 bottles of water for charity.

the stores not allowed to price gouge on water and other basic needs items...if they get investigated and found guilty, it's a pretty hefty fine

yeah my buddy works the morning shift at costco so he's been grabbing me a couple cases of water for the past few day. But, every morning they sell out of what's on the floor in 15 mins.

BTW how's it going up there Kala?

I don't know why people keep an overstock of water. I mean, we have fresh water spigots all over and people can survive with less water when they fear less. but I guess I tend to not worry as much.

kona is nice and clear. sun is out, there still is wind. heard its still stormy on some parts. I was gonna head to the hamakua side and probably end up in the mountains tonight.

    stuff...
I really don't see how its price gouging... if you buy a single bottle of water it is around a dollar, so a case of 35 could be sold at $35, right? So what if it went to $20+

As far as I know it's not illegal unless they declare a state of emergency.

This this the first thing I thought too. I remember someone posting a picture on FB from Palama Market, $17.99 for a case of 35 water bottle. If you think about it that's like .50 something cents for each bottle. Where's the wrong doing on that. Some people just don't understand the big box stores can charge a little lower cause they can.

It seems like this person was hoping something major would happen and people would be willing to pay his price. The things people do to take advantage of others. Hope he gets stuck with it and can't return it.
