and they're just shorter than the stock ones? what years does it fit? I'll come get them if you're gonna chuck them. I took mines off but want to try and see if they'll fit and look better than my stock ones. I constantly hear rocks hitting my rocker panle now.

Texted the guy..

 

Frick.. I texted the guy.. Says "take whole truck $1,500".. what the heck would I do with the rest of it?? How do I even know that the items I need (i.e. Transfer case, Transmission, Computer, etc) even are still good?? HELP!!!

 

that's how I got the parts for mine, towed the whole truck to a coworkers lot to strip what I needed and had it towed away after.

they have those numbers to call for junked cars, either free, they pay you a little or you pay them a little.

 

So.. Have someone go out with me to see if the stuff I need is even good or not, then do the above? I can do some "minor" wrenching, but kinda feel like I gotta pay someone who knows what they are doing..

Read that one thing that will NEED to be done is fabbing a cross member as the 2xs are 2" off from the 4x4..

 

pretty much. pulling the parts off isn't too hard...I had the whole drivetrain out in 8hours with a floor jack and some 2x4's for the transmission.

pulling the electrical wires out of the main harness took a few days and sucked balls from the cab being smashed in.

2+ people could probably have everything off in a day.

the crossmember is pretty tough metal, but fabbing it isn't too difficult with the proper tools.

 

If was me, I think $1500 would be worth the risk as long there is nothing obviously destroyed when you look at it. Otherwise you're talkin' $5k plus for parts, not to mention having to search piece meal..

 

I paid $1500 for my parts and the truck was in worse condition, looking at the pics that were posted.

 

Maybe can make some of it back since you would only need whats under the truck. Kala said the bed sides and tailgate is perfect for his truck. Only thing, he's up on the Big Island.
