Hey there... I'm new here... I am needing to get the recon done on my 2001 Tacoma... My tread sticks out slightly and was wondering who thought it might pass still? I really don't want to have to put the garden edging on and put holes in the fender... Can anyone give me their thoughts please and thank you!

That will pass no problem....Is it lifted? Sorry for the dumb question, only ask to make sure you even need to go through the recon process

By what your picture shows, it's your sidewall that is sticking out, not treads.

Will definitely pass...the requirement is that your tread cannot stick out past the flare. Yours is good to go, mine sticks out a little more than that and I have a passing RECON

They might make you put garden flare crap on to extend your mud flap to cover the tread.....if you have wheel spacers on i would just take those off and you would be good but if its like that because the width of your rim then yeah you might want to extend the mudflap to cover the tread. It really depends on the inspector, sometimes they are cool and it will pass

nah, no ways that would pass. that's like a 1/3 of the tire outside the mudflap. mines looked like this on my 2003, with 32x11.5's on MT Classic II's (3.65" BS I think)... I had to remove the mudflap, and drill new holes to mount it more outward... I think @Konaborne did this too for safety.

You should be fine, but it all depends on the inspector's eye/mood. That's the problem. It's so subjective. No one can tell you for certain that you'll pass 100% unless none of the tire/wheel sticks out.
