Just signed up for a permit. Didn't even know you needed one until recently, haven't been out there in a few years.

I live by Sunset so I'd be down to go out just about any weekend. I vote mornings though so we can beat traffic out of Haleiwa by lunch time

Anyone planning of Kaena Saturday? I'm leaning toward the morning around 730-8 time instead of afternoon

I'm interested for Saturday but I haven't gotten my sticker yet. They said up to 10 days, been almost that long. How long did everyone wait?

I don't recall how long it took from the moment I submitted the request, but I do recall it taking longer than 10 days because the office that issues them were back-logged from all of the requests coming in at once.

Starting this year, they changed to a 2-year pass, so all of the previous passed expired 31 DEC 2016, and you had to submit for a new 2017-2018 sticker.

Way too much rain right now for me tomorrow at Kaena. It'll be a muddy mess out there. Hopefully next weekend

Everyone get the email from Kiana?

"This is a reminder that the Kaena Point State Park Reserve (Mokuleia Side) is not a designated off-road vehicle recreation area."

Edit: Rick posted the entire email on the Oahu thread. Let's all be careful out there.

Yah I think it was because a couple of Jeeps were doing donuts out there while my friends and I were fishing around section C/D. Also lower road around section A was tore up pretty good as well, somebody had fun in the mud.

Only matter of time it'll be completely off limits :( I understand the nature conservation deal but honestly there is no where else to go that has fairly easy access. Why does everything on this island have to be a PITA to do or get done?! #overit
