I guess it's been released, cause there is a bunch on eBay. $429 complete! I might swing by Hobbitat on the way home tomorrow and see if they got some in. Might not be able to help myself...
And I need thicker diff lube anyway :D

Well I think I fixed my Tx.. Had to use a little shade tree mechanic know how lol. I tried epoxy'n the broken steering shaft a few months ago but didn't hold. This time I CA glued it together, then wrapped it tight in electrical tape and let it sit for a few hours. Then I peeled the tape and tightly wrapped about 8" of thread around the fractured area and coated the thread with epoxy. Should work as a makeshift fiberglass type reinforcement. I had added some extra further up but had to cut it off because it was blocking the action and making it feel sticky. I also loosened the tension on the steering return spring so it takes some of the stress off the repaired part. Just gotta take it easy on the steering wheel from now on. If I can find my old AM Airtronics Tx in the garage I will see if I can steal the parts from it.

I have some Ofna 120,000wt if you want Iven? And I still have your Traxxas diff locker, just have to find where the tiny bottle made it's way off to lol

The Twin Hammers is a beautiful rig, but that Yeti is the way I would go though. I love the combo solid rear with IFS. Would make a perfect scale Trophy truck or 2nd gen pre-runner scaler.

Got the chimera all buttoned up, lights and buckets are all wired up and looks good. I think I'll get up early tomorrow and test it in the sand to see if anything breaks :D

I'm pulling my Tx back apart again lol

I took too much tension out of the steering return spring so now it won't self center :(

So, did somebody say "sand drag"? :D
Had a lot of people camping in the naupaka, and the spot we usually play didn't have a whole lot of sand cause of the high surf. So I took it to the sandy beach side where its wide and soft and rutted out from all the trucks, and it did great. Wide open all the way only rolled a couple times turning around or when I hit a really big rut that I didn't see. Now to clean it...

Measure twice, cut once right? Well I did but the dremel was going fast enough that it zipped through the plastic like that :D

Had to JB weld some material back on the steering return connector, and then spend an hour with some very small hobby files getting it to just the right shape. After that the spring was still too lose to accurately and reliably self center and I couldn't do much about it since I stretched out the spring the other day to lighten it up :/ Ended up cutting 2 coils off each end and having to bend new loops. Seems to be working pretty nice now, just have to test it tomorrow and hopefully it's fixed!

I love to tinker so this actually turned out to be really fun. But I still wish it hadn't broke in the first place

So I swung by Hobbietat on the way home from work to grab some thicker diff fluid for the chimera. I asked if they got any Axial Yetis in yet. Too bad. They come in tomorrow...
But they did have the Vaterra Twin Hammers! :D So I grabbed one after checking it out. My daughter wanted this one anyway cause its smaller and looks more like dads 1/5th scale :)
And its pretty fricken cool
She already peeled off most of the stickers.

Not many things make the 1:10 summit look small.
    IMG_1926 (800x600).jpg
Everything will look a lot smaller once I get my bigger tires for the chimera that is on the way :D

I think he's set on the yeti. I'm gonna drag him down there and make him buy it once they have it in stock. They do have axial SCX10 jeep with the ICON shocks and rigid led lights tho :D
