If you put too much oil, it gets sucked in and contaminates the MAF. People make like you'll run lean and blow up your motor.... It throws the CEL for MAF out of range. Pop it out, couple squirts with MAF cleaner and good to go. Ask me how I know... Damn AFE and their bottled oil. What so hard about offering an aerosol can?

I had an oiled filter in my last Colorado... Never again... I had an error code half the time I drove it.. It was a poorly designed intake.. I had calipers and measured the ID of the tube the maf sits in and compared it to the OEM tube... It was about an eighth smaller than OEM which raised velocity, which raised mad readings which raised fuel which pissed off my ecu when it saw overly rich conditions... Lesson learned

question - you guys been buying that TPMS replacement kit that Goodyear, Lex Brodie's, etc. pushes when you change tires?

GY Kona says it's $8/kit per tire, and that it's recommended to get it. my truck has 12k miles, and I already moved the TPMS from stock to aftermarket rims without getting the kits. just curious if this is something I NEED to do or not.

that kit is the o-ring and nut...you usually can re-use em, but its somewhere in their contract to replace them.

yeah, that's what I was asking the guy: do I have a choice, or is it something he's suggesting I do. he made like I could bypass doing it, but I was just curious if everyone gets the kit on every tire change or not. or, maybe no one is aware cause they do the whole tire/mount/balance one shot... not like me, buy tires, mount some place else. hahaha

yeah, I ran it for a while like that, but since I was selling my stock sports, I figure I might as well keep/transfer the sensors.

the TPMS service kit is just a O-ring/washer/nut/valve core that they service off the TPMS sensor it self. IF your light is FLASHING then one or the sensors are dead no longer sending signal.

personally i highly recommended since if you had a regular valve steam you would still change it out no matter what right? same concept with the TPMS kit.

also if you have TPMS please check your valve steam caps they must have a Oring inside of it. that seals water from getting into the valve core/stem will cause corrosion and you end up buying a new sensor.

also never use fix-a-flat in a TPMS wheel

k, so follow-up question: which would you guys go with?
    1. Goodyear - $22/tire + $8/tpms kit, one time mount/balance
    2. Lex Brodies - $50/tire (I believe TPMS kit included), lifetime free balance/rotation

I just got my matching spare from Dustin @ FN, so I'm gonna be going with 5 tires.

Depends how hard it is for you to do your own rotate. ...
Then how many rebalancing will you actually use?
For me rebalance will maybe be once, before its time to replace and I just rotated my tires yesterday and cleaned my drums. So my vote GY. Just my $.02

I have never rebalanced my tires after their installation and my mechanic can easily do rotations when he works on my truck. Save the bucks and go to Goodyear.
