    It's been floating around in the back of the truck, I just never really got around to it. It's a little pointless, unless the whole axle is submerged. People made like the stock one is a one way valve, but it's not. Water can and still will enter through axle seals in some peoples cases. I guess it just helps if the location is higher so the vacuum created by cooling can pull in air easier than water through the axle seals. I ended up mounting mine in the bed cubby since I have bed cover.
    And pre runners dint have a front differential, but the 4wd diff breather is mounted higher up, so most people leave it.

    Mine was a spring loaded one way valve. Always blocked off if the diff is sucking and able to blow out if there;s enough pressure to push the spring.

    I was too lazy to drill a hole, so I went behind the driver side tail light.

    Mine just had a hole with a silver cap that flopped around, and the new part with the barb didn't have a check valve, I could blow air either way through it. Drained and filed the rear diff with the lucas oil at the same time. No noticeable difference in sound for me, but there are so many other noises going on with the truck and its contents, it's hard to tell anyway.

    yours would also explain why some people get water sucked into their axles through the seals...
    I wonder if mine was defective?

    well, I'm joining the tall/skinny tire club, with @luka and @xmods. just ordered (5) 255/85/16 Cooper ST Maxx :bananadance:

    I was kinda torn between the KM2's and ST Maxx for that size. I almost pulled the trigger on KM2's but I talked to Lex Brodies again, and I was able to convince the salesperson that the size does exist (previously, they claimed that the size doesn't exist - probably cause everyone wants 285/75/16 or they're stretching MT's on Fuel Hostages, lol). the reason I went with the ST Maxx over the KM2 is cause the ST Maxx isn't a full MT (which would've been kinda impractical for my daily driver, imo), and it's a little wider/slightly shorter than the KM2. in case anyone is interested, here's the numbers for the 255/85/16 ST Maxx and KM2 that I found online, based on 7" wide rims:

    ST Maxx -
    height = 32.8"
    width = 10.2"
    tread width = 8.15"
    weight = 58lbs (load range E)

    BFG KM2 -
    height = 33.3"
    width = 10"
    tread width = 7.4"
    weight = 55lbs (load range E)

    Maybe yours was defective. If mine was like that, I would have reused it and just relocated it higher.

    what side? that should be an easy way to narrow down what's "affordable". I don't know anyone off the top of my head, but I can ask around. only 1 month though?
