I just moved to hawaii with my Taco, and was wondering does anyone know the specifics for the bumper height? like do they measure to the lowest or highest point on the bumper? because I was thinking of getting a 2.5 to 3 inch lift, 33 inch tires and the C4 Hi clearance front and rear bumpers. wanted to know before I go spend money.

    Welcome, Allen!
Most of your questions can be answered in this thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hawaii-recon-information-q-a-thread.99156/

Edit: To answer your question regarding bumper height:
Edit #2: The 2.5-3" of lift and 33" tires are usually no problem. The common troubles we face are:
    1. requirement to have mud flaps (rear only),
    2. DOT approved headlights (retrofits and LED's usually don't pass),
    3. legal window tint without stickers blocking view from rearview mirror,
    4. and the tires/wheels sticking out beyond the fenders; hence, the garden trimming you see on some of the trucks with oversized tires and 10" or wider wheels.

So this safety check shit is getting dumber.

I removed the camper and my rear window stickers, today they tell me my exhaust can't dump under the bed (even though it's well over the axle) and you can't have any kinda rubbing from the tires.

2 different safety places and 2 different problem sets. It's getting old real quick.

Anybody got suggestions for a new place to try?

Only thing I was told was it has to dump beyond the last operating window. The only guys who have problems are like 4runners, since the rear window rolls down, it has to exit past the body lines, even if out the sides. I think they're wrong.

yeah, i'd challenge the exhaust dump since it's beyond the last operating window.
