Not sure if this has been discussed here yet...is Servco doing frame rust inspections and actually replacing frames? Just got my Warranty Enhancement Letter.

What kind of tires are you folks running for the type of terrain we have here? Went camping at Peackock Flats this past weekend after the torrential downpour, and it was WET. I was thinking about getting some mud terrains, but I am curious as to what others are using. I am on A/T now and they didnt do too well...

If you’re trying to chew up MTs on the highway, you’ll be set until it rains.

I’d suggest running something like Goodyear Duratracs, Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Cooper ST Maxx, or Toyo R/Ts as they’re the ‘hybrid’ AT / MT tire.

If you plan to go to Peacock Flats often, recommend mud terrains such as:
    BFG KM3,
    Goodyear MT/R,
    Toyo MT,
    Cooper STT Pro,
    Falken MT,
Nitto Mud Grapplers or Trail Grappler,
    ...or even Super Swampers!

If you're not comfortable with mud-terrains, drive your truck daily, and prefer a balance between an all-terrain and mud-terrain, you can go with an aggressive all-terrain tire like the following:
    Toyo RT,
    Mickey Thompson ATZ P3,
    Cooper ST Maxx,
    Falken AT3W,
    Nitto Ridge Grapplers,
    Goodyear Duratracs,
    or BFG KO2.

Regular all-terrains or street tires will do you no good offroad.

I was originally looking at the Falken AT3W, but after the flats i was thinking I needed a more aggressive tire. I was looking at the Mastercraft Courser MXT. Anyone running the Falken AT3W? I have a short commute to work, but the truck is my daily driver. I have access to a vehicle lift so I could rotate them at every oil change. So many choices out there. Anyone running 255/85r16? I was thinking of either the 255/85r16 or 265/75r16.

    I believe @RMAN808 runs Falken AT3W, but I can't remember which size.

And I think @luka runs 255/85 but don't remember which tires.

    Most run 265/75R16 or 265/70R17 and 285/75R16 or 285/70R17.

With the upcoming holidays, I'm sure you'll find a good deal. It also comes to availability of when you want them and the cost at the time of purchase. Tire prices fluctuate on the regular.

If you're able to wait for Truck Fest (Mar 2019), the shop we don't like to name usually has good deals...but, I don't recommend them to mount and balance...I know of an instance where someone's wheel fell off at Kaena Point after the place we do not name mount and balanced wheels.

Combs Performance, Discount Tire Hawaii, Mod Industries are my recommended shops. If you buy your tires from Combs, he'll recommend having Mod Industries mount and balance. And if you have access to any auto skill shop on the military bases, you can do it yourself of have them help you.

EDIT: The Mastercraft Courser MXT are mud terrain. Did you mean the Courser CXT? The CXT looks like a good hybrid, but don't know any shops that carry Mastercraft, durability/reliability, and performance on wet or muddy conditions.

The ones I listed in my previous post to your question all have been tested and proven by other TW members, from what I've read.

Also, I forgot to list was the Yokohama Geolandars...either the M/T or X-MT. From what I've read and heard about, they are noteworthy.

I was hoping to pull the trigger soon. I do have access to the auto skills center, but dont they charge you for removal, mounting, and balancing? I can mount a tubeless mountain bike tire, but I have no idea how to mount and balance a truck tire.
