I have Toyo A/Ts and don’t think they’ve done any worse than the trucks with M/Ts at PFlats. Maybe I was oblivious though since I like op checking my 4-lo, ATRAC, and elocker as much as possible. BUT, M/Ts are great for the mall!

I hear ya. That's why I just went to Discount Tire Hawaii. LOL. Plus, free tire rotations! Ha!

I believe @justyr1 mount and balanced his tires at one of the auto skill shops. He used to work at a tire shop in his previous life. Maybe he can help you? Not sure about the auto skill shops charging to help you mount and balance.

    Thanks for chiming in, Manny.

I think it was $20 or $25 per wheel/tire at Mod Industries. Don't remember if that includes tax. And I highly recommend you take your existing tires and sell them on your own instead of having to pay someone to dispose of them.

4-lo, ATRAC, and locker do help!

Same goes for airing down, good lines, and throttle control (read "smash the skinny pedal" and using downhill assist control)...and always recommend recovery gear and going with friends.

I did all those things and still got stuck LOL. I had recovery boards and a friend with another truck. There was only one problem spot on the way up, and we hung out there for about 1.5 hours....

Yeah. We went up with two 4x2 vehicles (2016 Tacoma and 4Runner) and it rained on us. Their tires (both Toyo MT's), were of huge help. If they didn't have them...we probably would still be stuck out there. Haha!

Unless you’re in love with the look of the MTs, you’re going to spend a lot of money on them just to burn them up on the highway and make your cab insanely loud.

Shop around for tires. A buddy just for his 285/75R16 KO2s mounted and balanced at Lex for under $900. That’s a really great price, anywhere. They’re not the more aggressive ATs, but you could likely find a similar deal.

Any fabricators wanna help me out? I refuse to pay the $30 shipping price for this item that I need for thanksgiving. Smoking a turkey.

I think some rebar with a steel ring and some quick wire tap welds could make this for far less.

i'd have to dig out the pics, pretty much a 10mm hole through the layered frame will give you a new frame. mine rotted out by the driver side cat underneath...I was following the corrosion for a couple of years and it didn't meet the "fail" criteria the first time around.

I run 255/85/16's and have been for the last 4-5 years.Ran Toyo M/T the first 2 sets and currently on a set of BF-G M/Ts that I got from x_mods

I like Toyo's and will probably go back to them again, either same size or similar R/T. I never got stuck with em with just the basic 4wd system with oem rear locker from 07...so no a-trac or anything.

316 is food grade stainless....rebar isn't really clean metal...so you'd be risking some extra flavor and maybe some cancer if you cook with dirty metal.

making one the proper way will probably cost more then the $50

and now I think i'm caught up :anonymous:

I run Falken AT3W (265/70/17). They haven't seen much mud yet but are great in the rain and I am overall happy with how they've performed so far.

I agree with @seoulja99. I only had good experiences with Dave and MOD Industries. IIRC, mounting, balancing (plus TPMS transfer) was $90 out the door.

Seen two people watching movies on their phones today while driving. One is a teenager in my neighborhood and friends with his parents. I asked him what he was doing he said fuck you. Guess who’s going to not be driving for a while.

His parents wouldn’t care if I did lol. We were both driving and I’m pretty sure he didn’t recognize me lol. I text the dad and he said “oh really. I’m gonna fuck him up. Then I’m gonna beat his ass for watching a movie while driving.”

Well in that case, slap him for watching a movie while driving and one for each letter of that "fuck you" that he said. :D

Frick, the other type of drivers I really try to stay away from are the ones wear earphones and are obviously listening to music. They sure as hell no can hear their surroundings and I no like be the one getting into one accident with them.
