I got mine online. It’s $2.50 if you use the online service, but it’s convenient and you just print your permit instantly. Free if you mail it in, fax or go to the office. Here’s the link to the online service:
    https://trails.ehawaii.gov/camping/all,details,57933.html

Get the permit for the “Kuaokala and Mokuleia Forest Reserve Access via Kaena Point Tracking Station”

    Some stuffz
Anybody else for Peacock Flats trip on January 19th/20th? I have a camping permit for both nights (possibly only staying 1 night) and can have up to 14 people...currently 9 spots open. People intending to camp will take priority on my pass, but I can add anyone interested in just a day trip. I’ll need names for anyone in the vehicle over 2 years and year/make/model/license plate # of vehicle. ***Also...safety, registration, and insurance must be current and shown to the gate guard*** and I believe a picture ID is required.

For the trail, 4x4 is highly recommended. Stock vehicles have made it up. Be aware there is a chance of getting some minor trail damage (rim rash, minor dents/scratches) depending on the conditions and driver error  I’ll have some maxtrax, tow strap, snatch strap, and shackles if needed.

Also, bring enough food and drinks for yourselves. I won’t have a problem sharing, but better to have too much than not enough

Earliest day they had available. The benefits of being retired, you have a whole Tuesday to do nothing
