I failed my safety big time today. Apparently now any/all offroad lights are illegal if they work? They can not be wired and have to be for show only? RECON must certify that any aftermarket auxiliary lights (anything non-OEM) are actual fog lights before it will pass safety? What kind of stupid rule is that?

 

can't you just put covers over them?

 

did they give you the HRS section regarding it?

 

So you have to take them all off? Or just remove/hide the switches.. Lol

^^^ no, just unplug them. Get your safety check, then plug them back in. I understand their illegal to use on the street. That's why they don't pass.

No, but honestly I didn't ask. I'm going to RECON today to see whats up.

Yea, I get why they won't pass. And I'll pull some fuses if I have to. But I asked and they will pass it if I cover them, just want to see if I can add them to my RECON first. Been a crazy last two days building the covers and trying to figure this all out.

Nice Rig. Did you do your grille, I want to do mine. I been looking for someone that had done one to supervise me when I do mine.......

 

I passed RECON! They said no functioning lights above 54", but side they were covered they were not considered functional. I didn't have the covers when I went in for safety because they are expensive. But when they told me to to RECON, I went ahead and tried to build my own. They don't look so great up close, but for $17 for all my lights, I won't complain!

Not really.. There are some fishing spots. And the "sandbox" but that place is for hard core rigs. When I have an itch, I just run down to sandys and get stuck, then I'm cured

 

I think I have seen your truck around Kaneohe a few times by the petco

I'll keep an eye out for your truck, not too many with those TRD wheels around here.

If you like going to sandys, I'm willing to tag along. 4wd would probably be able to pull me out so I don't have to dig as much

No, I'm not military. I worked on just about all the bases here temporarilly a few years ago. But for now I'm a student at WCC. I live sorta close to the fire & police stations.
