Hey guys, so I'm finally gonna meet with an af recruiter next week before thanksgiving. Been studying for my asvab for the pass month. Just the afqt sections though. Any advice on what to expect/ask when I go? Super nervous. But excited. We'll see what happens.

Well looks like I may not be getting the front runner rack. Got an email from them saying it was going to cost me an extra $100 just to ship it here. So now I am thinking of just going with the Baja flat rack it's quite a bit cheaper even including shipping

Actually I was looking at micro mark too. I like that their hand wheels are .050" per revolution. The little machine shop is .062" or 1/16 per revolution for the bigger one, and .040 for the small one. But now I am thinking about the micro mark again. I may not have room in my shop for the 8.5x16 lathe since it's 3 feet long! Shipping on the mini mill with the tooling package was almost $250.

    :edit:
Jeez, the micro mark is 38" long!!!

Hmmmm I didnt look into the length lol. maybe I should just settle for a grizzly 7x12. smaller not brushless but should still work ok. but going to be .050" either tho.

for shipping 250 doesnt sound bad at all. Did you have it freight forwarded or did they ship it UPS? I swear when I got a quote for the lathe they wanted like $400.00 shipped!

They usually take down info, talk with you a bit, and get you a possessing date eventually(MEPS(where you rake the ASVAB )). If you wanna run the stuff he tells you by us, I'd suggest it. (My recruiter was awesome and told me everything truthfully).

Thanks bro. Yeah I'll let you guys know. Just dont like bringing down the taco talk with air force stuff. Haha. But figured might as well since there seems to be a lot of air force guys here. How long does it take until you can take the asvab? Just wanna get it over with.

Not sure how they are shipping, but its gonna be delivered to my home.

Check this one out too. Only 27" long
    http://www.littlemachineshop.com/4200
Only .040 per revolution on the hand wheels, but this one has digital hand wheels so you can zero them. Not true DRO because the readings are rotary positioned, it doesn't account for backlash. Just gotta make sure you zero and feed the same direction.
