I always wanted some MT-R's!!! But I think they wouldn't make much sense on a 2wd so I'm waiting until I convert it :)

See.....that's what I mean, km2's and Toyo's but, I know a guy that used to wheel in Waihole, he's all about mt-r's....his best performing tire....oh boy, decisions.

    im looking at this ...BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 - 305/70R17... or this ....
Micky Thompson Baja MTZ Radial - 33x12.5x17LT.....

the MT tires are 1 lb lighter and i really like the sidewall on this tire. but 1lb means nothing to me at this point and the 33 will be more like a 32.8 making the KM2 slightly bigger tire. decisions decisions

Vigo uses mtz's. Hopefully he'll chime in on his opinion on those.

their on-road handling is a lot better than most other MT/s out there IMHO. I used to have a hard time getting up steep/wet roads with my KM2's, had friends with MTZ's and procomp MT's with the same problem; switched to the MT/Rs and I don't have that problem anymore.
    not too loud either.
...and they look the best IMHO too :D
    [IMG]

only thing, the MT/R's are geared more towards the rocks than they are the mud

goodyear actually classifies them more as a "Multi-terrain" than a mud terrain because of this, they dont self-clear as good as other M/T's in the sticky stuff

not a problem for me since I absolutely hate mud, but playing devil's advocate to myself

Between the mtz and mtr I don't think you could go wrong with either. I haven't had mtrs but they were up there on my list.
MTZs are pretty quiet, I've never had any traction issues when driving normally. It's actually ok driving in the wet, unless you get cocky. I've managed to chunk a little, but I do drive like Phil. I've chunked km1.5s, and tore whole lugs off duratracs, the mtzs hold up fine compared to the way those turned out.
I also like the sidebiter lugs. It actually looks like a mud tire and works for sidewall protection and for digging in. Some sidewalls look like they're for decoration only.

I wanted to be the first to get these,
But have you checked out the new IROK ND? Non directional. They look pretty good and are cheap. They have a 34s by 12 half that would look good on your truck.

Here's my mtzs. They also have siping that help with wet weather driving.

Yup, and that is not that large as far as most of my panorama's go.. I had one that was almost a gig!

My 110 Lincoln is rated for 1/8" max with flux core.. I have welded 3/8' with CO2 and it worked just fine. 1/4" it actually doee really well on. Just dial back the wire feed a little to concentrate the heat, and bevel the edges. Preheating and multiple passes help. I got some textbook welds on 3/16" today! But then I got some really ugly ones because my angles sucked. Good thing is the ugly ones are where I planned on grinding flat anyway, and the nice welds are probably going to be left in tact :)

anyone good at wiring sounds? I will definitely need help with my set up and I'd like to actually work on it myself. I'll be adding an audiocontrol LC7, amp for mids/highs and sub, door speakers and a sub. I'll also be putting in my 1200 watt inverter. I wonder if I can tap into the wiring of the existing outlet in the bed since that thing is pretty much useless for anything worth really plugging in.
