I have that battery (25c). I would think you'll cook your motor...but, I would get a smart charger for that battery and among other things I switched to steel rear axles. I don't sky like you but I try to baja style it and nothing breaks. I'm ginger on asphalt , I break everything there. But, ask NATE, he' ll know fo sho.

If it's the brushless motor and ESC then it can probably handle it? But a 2s might be enough for you? 2s LiPo is going to pack a much bigger pinch than a 7-cell NiMH. Even though it's slightly lower voltage, it is capable of crazy high amp draw so the motor can draw gobbs of power right off the line.

As far as drivetrain, with more voltage you will always break things. Like Ron said new driveshafts might be a good idea. Maybe a steel spur? HD slipper. HD hex hubs.

If your slipper is squeaking I don't know what that means. Could just be a dirty bearing? I would take it apart and see if it looks or smells burnt. And maybe tighten it up a bit.

You have to monitor the motor temps and esc when going up in voltage. Usually when going up in voltage you need to go down in gearing. It also depends on what your esc can handle. I have 3 and 4 cell with traxxas connectors if you'd like to try it out before buying.

 

I'd deffinetly say try out someone's 2s and 3s before you order Brandon. And I have an it temp gun if you wanna try temps out?

it is when you're not in something worth double digits or soothing you don't care much about. Ive taken some stock beaters up there but I gotta admit when the gold truck was whining and doing 70 in 4high, that was some intense fun. i like bussing my shit up, jumping things, doing random fish tails…some people just don't like that kinda fun.
When I was little and riding shot gun it wasn't fun hooking up the straps or locking hubs. thats when I told myself whenever everyone goes, I need be driving something.

Traxxas website says you can go to 3s lipo on stock gearing, good for 45mph. And you gear it higher for 45 mph..

As for the squeak, try oil the bearings. Wd40 or equivalent is fine.
