technically you could, but I'd get a better coil instead.

I jus installed 5100s set at 2.5" with a 1/4" top plate spacer the ride is 100x better than the procomp 2.25" strut spacer. Im only using the spacer to fix my taco lean. Im using my stock coils. Only set them all the way up to fit my tires. When i get my maxtrac spindles im dropping them to .85" but still gonah use the spacer incase the lean cones back.

I agree with Cody. I chose to go straight for the 885/billie setup from the get go. The ride is excellent and can only imagine how much stiffer it would've been had I stuck with any combo which included the stock coils.

stocks are soft, preload will only wear them out faster

5100 heights are approximate to the stock spring rate; eventually they'll sag

So if i go with the 885 setup, it would give me the 3in without having to put a top spacer?

    Oh boy...
i was trying to upload a video of a 2 wheel drive Xterra tearing it up lol but for some reason the video isn't uploading to photobucket. might have to try youtube.

i love my mtz's they are way better than expected. worst case i give the whole strap to mike. going to be pretty hard to cut. the other tows trap its a heavier duty strap.

well that would have been way easier lol

No you'll get more of 2.5. I also have the 1/4 inch lean spacer too and my billies set at 0" with the 885's. From what I gather anything more than that you'll need to do a diff drop because of the cv angles. Most of the guys here are running 2.5 and they all look really good. And a lot of the guys started with Billies and then graduated later to better set ups but the same height. I like my setup and will stick with it for a bit as mine is a daily driver. And I guarantee I put on more miles than anyone else here. When I have a chance I'll move up to 285's and better suspension setup but probably stay at the same height.

Is there a big difference in ride quality between 1.75 to 2.5 for the bilsteins 5100, i might want to set it at that for now until i save money for the 885 coils

Still need the top plate according to toytec

Edit: I went from bilstein at 2.5 to the ome 885. Much better and more height, I used a 1/4" top plate spacer and a 3/8 on the driver side.
