so i'm measuring the length of the string from the point where it rests at the rear and then the difference when pulling it tight?

Yeah the tailpipe seems to be in the way after the flip, I was unaware of the extended lines being tight, though. You have your hi lift on the back? Wonder if It would be ok since only one wheel will be dropped down instead of both at the same time.
Recently found out that my friend bought a forklift for his business, now I really want to install and measure it all out.

pretty much. the most travel you'll get from the pack is when it's completely flat, and the front leaf eye on the hangar doesnt move

That's neat, I didn't realize that the shackle could limit the leaf, but from what I read the shock will be the limiting factor with the ATO and bilstein b110s.

edit, Never mind, you are talking about compressed... so the spring will flatten out, and the shackle has to be able to let the spring flatten, as the end points lengthen.

Looks amazing!!! Joining the club of proper shackles :D

Should have let me know, I could have swung by to help.

I think that's the guy that stopped by Sandys on our second meet to see what we were upto. His lugs were a blues chrome thing that changed colors with the light. Looked kinda bluish green.

That's what's good about the ATO, it has 3 points to mount the shackle. I just thought it was for different spring lengths from different manufacturers.

it was not that fun.....I spent a good hour pulling metal shards out of my feet...

bigfuckinghammer with my big punch work pretty good after a carbide burr call and some 1/2" drilling.

at least if I were to help someone do it again, it would be much smoother....and I would wear proper clothing

all the tacoma leafs are the same length (unless you're going custom or SUA) but arch will affect travel
I hadn't really thought about it until I talked with some of the desert LT guys, and it makes sense. Rigs running leafs usually have long shackles to grab all the leaf movement

but im just talking about a general conventional shackle setup...im not going to pretend to know jack shit about the ato flip haha

Jason just had supermoto build him these shackles...

From what I read, there are small differences in length between stock, the all pro, and the Dakar. So they have 3 different shackle mounting points built in so you can get the shackle at the proper angle for the different lengths. That is all for the stock shackles that come with the truck, though.

So funny, that we have to spend so much time and $$$ to get the truck to be the way it should have come from the factory!

I forget how the math works out.. But if your shackles are longer than the spring needs, it will reduce the spring rate slightly.

I think if anything, it just adds unnecessary driveshaft angle

If unloaded your rear is .5" above the front, that sounds about right, but when you haul, you gonna be nose up... look into some timbrens.. i love them for loads. If you need a bit more rake back, try an AAL. They make one for your pack.

The timbrens should be set up to hit at 1". So right now, if you haul you should be about .5-.75 nose up when you haul.. no difference when you not. Not sure also if they may a .5" block. That would put you 1" rake when unloaded and level to a bit nose high en you haul. That's about your only options.

you'll only have a ton of rake if you don't adjust your front to 2.5. Mine is equal to 2.5 in the front with 1.5 in the back and still have a little rake. but it actually looks pretty good. although i think my back ended up closer to 2. seems like every aal settles slightly different. but i didn't measure before and after for exact specs.

    looks good btw!
