I've got over 200K on the truck so I just went out and bought a rebuilt starter. Got something for me to do this weekend.

I went up to Kaena Point for the first time yesterday and got stuck on my way out when I decided to test my truck in the sand. Not a good idea, I had to dig myself out and finally was free. On the way up though I saw like 5 jeeps and was thinking we should meet up and do a little off-road as well. I only went up about 3/4 of a mile cuz its been raining and the ground was really soggy. TBH along some of the edge I almost shit my pants on the narrow trail looking down at the cliff. Anyways I made it out alive and I want some more, but having someone with you to pull you out if you get stuck would be nice. Lets set a date and meet up??

I went on Waianae side. Yeah the stock tires suck balls, I should be getting my BF All-terrains mounted on the first. I got a few more parts on the way as well, I should have a busy weekend.

Thanks, I was only stuck 30 mins... I just kept on rocking and stearing, got out in reverse and back my way out. It was nice that 2 locals in 1st gen taco and 4runner stopped to help. But I was already pulling out when they saw.

Ill see if we can get more people down to meet and start a thread. I don't know where we could go though besides here for the meet. I'm still new to the Island.

Looks like Yokohama Bay. Did you air down before going in the sand?

Yeah. Airing down to maybe 15- 20 psi would have gottin you out..but to re-fill the tires would have been a long drive. The other side of that mountain where you were at might be little more fun..Mokuleia

I'm down for a meet up,
FYI don't use a chain or tow strap on the upper part of your bumper, I found out this past week. lol

Like the other guys said, airing down would help, especially with that heavy bumper. Looks good though :)

I'm used to digging myself out, with 2wd and all.. It's fun the first few times :D

I'm down for another meet. I got my CO2 tank so I'm going to try 10psi like someone told me to a while back and see how that does?

airing down on sand is as helpful as having a grippy tire on rock. the tire tread is almost inconsequential on sand when aired down

looks fun though, what's wheeling without a good stuck every once in awhile :D

Yep, being stuck offroad is still 100x more fun than just cursing on pavement. And 1000x more fun than being "stuck" in traffic..

Check it guys! I went added some faint amber strips to the white strips I already have! They come on with the headlights.

The white strips come on when you remote unlock or open a door

This use to happen to me all the time when I went mudding in Tx with a ford f150. Go under your truck and whack the starter a few time with a rench or hammer. It should start right up

Can put your tailgate down and tie it down. If it's a big plastic one, you should be alright
