I personally have not been there yet but would like to go

Peacock Flatts is DOD Property, don't trespass just get a permit to go.
    Info: http://hawaiitrails.ehawaii.gov/trail.php?TrailID=OA+01+010 also http://www.hawaiitrails.org/trail.php?TrailID=OA+01+005&island=Oahu
Permit: http://www.state.hi.us/dlnr/dofaw/pubs/Application_to_Hike_Kuaokala_Schofield Waikane.pdf The 10 day processing is if you mail it and want them to mail it back. Just goto the Federal Bldg at Punchbowl/HWY 92 and they will give it to you right there.
They say that 4wd is required but I have heard of many people going with out it. Also have seen people with no lift and bald hwy tires on youtube.
As for it being overgrown this video does not show as such from a few weeks ago

Not trying to start a fight or anything but Legal Access is better than Illegal Access getting the Legal access shut down.

What have you done to your truck lately
Dropped off the truck last night for them to work on it today waited till 1300 today and called the service adviser for status. He said he will go check and call me back. you figure a few minutes. Hour passed called again got the voice message left a message waited another half hour finally called the main service number and the lady said that he was on the phone and that she will have him call me back. Finally called back and said we have to locate the parts there is no part numbers for the Supercharger. Took them all day to figure out there is no part numbers. Since I purchased the supercharger for TRD4parts and had Servco installed it. Now they are saying it is not under warranty. WTH Servco. Took the truck home today until they can figure out what parts to order. Servco Mapunapuna terrible customer service Grade "Z". So if you service your truck there don't ask for Bill ask for some one else.

    :(

I've had a number of issues with Servco mainly with service, i've since stopped going to them and do everything myself.

I bet it's something you could DIY if you're feeling up to it.

Took about 5 hours to do his black housing mod but buncha beer in between. Gotta say, thanks for trusting a non sober person on your million dollar headlights :) Here are some action pics and before and after.

Understood.....There's tons of trails up there. Some where a family sedan could drive. There's a big camp ground too so, that's what a bunch of people go up their for. The ruts in the video look deep and the branch that ripped off the go pro would get ginsued by a Husky chain saw lol. Looks like a day long cruz and adventure. I'm game . I'll definitely be choosing the best line.

For future reference a lot of companies if you call/email them they are willing to ship smaller stuff via flat rate box or regular envelopes. They just don't offer it on websites, because it doesn't allow for tracking numbers normally.
Yeah I'm down I start my weekend duty rotation the next weekend.
Again, I haven't been there before but from what I understand A DOD/Military ID is not good enough and a permit has to be obtained.
