Nice find. Don't think I need one either but it's nice to see it done up in aluminum for the Hawaii crowd who deals with salt air constantly.

so i checked my leaf springs today.... found this...

    DA5CCEF7-CE9E-469A-B96D-115FCACAF563_zps_c3330041dd4e6b2b3a9c03ba6d654e1e234ad4dd.jpg

anyone else bring theirs in yet? I just emailed them(mapunapuna) to see what they plan on doing. If they replace it, I hope the truck will still be under its recall program since they'll most likely end up using the crappy oem leaf springs to replace. I know that there isn't a remedy yet.

Anyone watching Expedition Overland (South America)?? Realized other than the playing in the sand, they haven't really needed to use 4wd in the 1st 5 episodes.

Yeah, nothing too serious yet. Maybe they can't damage the 4runners too much and make them look bad? I do like that bumper to slider bar on the tacoma.
thanks, you need to bring the your taco over too.

So I spoke to some lady in service department. Inspection can't be done till sept 5th. Kinda far out. I also asked if it was still going to be under the recall since it's still going to be replaced with crappy oem ones that are still prone to cracking. She said no but I would have to PAY OUT OF POCKET since there is no solution to the recall.

I looked at the recall letter and found this...

Q2a: What if I experience the condition before the remedy is available?

A2a: If you experience the condition or warnings described above, please contact your local authorized Toyota dealer for diagnosis and repair. If the condition is related to this Safety Recall, the repair will be performed at No Charge to you.

I was pretty upset When she told me this. I'm going to call Waipahu tomorrow to see that they say.
