And my $1 says that just b/c you disagree with the notion or direction of any thread doesn't give you the right to disrespect said thread by acting like a child.

    Jusy sayin.

I am not acting like a child and I was not disrespecting the thread. Someone mentioned my name in here and then it devolved from there. It happens - and it seems to be a trend on this website. If you truly have a problem with it, maybe you should stop name calling and contact me personally and ask me to stop.

    Thank you.

Regarding the initial thread topic: Running your fingers posting on a Tacoma website changes nothing and eats up bandwidth. I, as many do, come here for amusement and education. It's a distraction from the daily propaganda that bombards us every moment we're plugged into the general media.

Here's the number of opinions your posts and rants will change: 0

Politics is similar to religion in that people have their set of beliefs and there is no changing them. You can present facts, charts, graphs, quotes, hard data, fossil records, whatever, and nothing will change in their minds.

We are here to enjoy the site and have some light-hearted conversation. Take the political banter someplace where it matters or surround yourself with like-minded individuals and have fun complaining about people on the other side of the argument. We'll happily sit here and make light of the situation because, well, that's what we do.

I will state for the record I'm not a republican, nor am I a democrat. I am an individual who makes my own assumptions and forms my own opinions, and could give a rat's ass about party lines. If a president will do a good job, then I will support him/her/it.

    Point 1:
I find it amusing, how for as long as I can remember, the the Democratic party has fought for what they call 'underprivileged', aka the poor. They have always fought to help them... but we have more and more people every year joining the welfare program.

How is giving the poor more incentives going to help America (which last I heard about $65 Billion dollars were going to welfare and similar)? They don't contribute to society, yet the rest of America is required to support them.... Explain how giving the poor money will help us? They don't buy new cars, or new furniture, they don't open business and create jobs.

    Point 2:
Take this for example... You are a college athlete, say football player, your head coach just resigned. Would you let the chess team pick your next head coach? Probably not. So why do we let the uneducated, those who know nothing about a Candidate's political stance pick our President?

Now you can say that we have the Electoral College that will be proper representation. Only one problem with that... In something like 23 states it is ILLEGAL for the Electoral College to vote against party line. What does this mean.. the Electoral College can no longer do their job and vote for who they believe is the better president, but instead vote based on their states popular vote.

What amazes me is that the people that make under $250,000 a year actually believe that his policies are only going to affect the people that make over $250,000. Shit runs down hill if the wealthier have more money taken out.... how do you think they will compensate? They will give less to their employees.

OH.. and I make nowhere near $250,000 a year.

and I'm just saying that Tacoma World doesn't have a politics section any more because all it did was lead to bickering like children. Maybe the thread should have been closed, but I figured let's try to derail the thread to keep the mood light and to prevent TW from feeling like there are a bunch of rules.
