I'm having issues with my obd port, a little history, I had to replace my stock ecu because I bricked it by mistake while flashing something. Ever since I installed the replacement ecu and flashed it my obd port has been screwed up, I can no longer get my emissions done because the obd port will disconnect randomly throughout the process.

I have a non stock stereo and it has an obd port connection that lets me see speed, tire pressure and some other things. The weird thing is when I start my car the reading show up and then about 30 seconds later a message is displayed that says "OBD port disabled", another issue I'm having since the new ecu was installed is my left two tires are showing 0psi, don't think its the sensors since it would have been a crazy coincidence for them both to die the second I replaced the ecu. I have since tried having a new ecu flashed to my car but the issues persist with the new ecu, I'm at a loss here, the dealership refuses to work on my truck because I have too many custom things installed, none of the obd fuses are blown either, the only thing I can think of is maybe i pulled a wire loose on one of the plugs that connect to the ecu while replacing it, any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated

Check the pins in the OBD port, it sonds like one or more of them may be spread out and not making good contact.

You probably answered your question....start disconnecting "custom things" to determine if any of them effected the functioning of the ECU / OBD port......

Yeah pull off the obd pass through thing for your head unit. Pull each pin properly out of the stock plug one by one and push the spring end out so the pins make proper contact with the emissions testing equipment.

This happens often when things are left plugged into the OBD port, the pins get deformed and loose contact.

I have disconnected all of my installed lights stereos ext, didnt fix it, I did however just find this wire in one of the pins to the ecu, it looks loose/slightly fried, lmk what you guys think , maybe this is the culprit?

Checked all the pins and wires behind, found one that had been spliced and come apart, soldered it back together. Still same thing though, I ran a test and it consistently disables itself exactly 39 seconds after starting the car. To me it sounds like the ecu is disabling it for some reason?

happened when i replaced the stock ecu for the first time with one i got from a salvage yard, tried a new one and the issue persisted so its now been happening on 2 ecus. Could it be relevent to the way i flashed the ecu? The delaership literally told me they wouldnt do it, so i followed this guide to flash it myself, does this process omit a key step in the flashing you think?

2nd to bottom on the ecu, i messed with it and it actually seemed connected fine, and wasnt fried just wrapped in electrical tape

I mean... what is the function of that pin.

People don't randomly wrap wires in hard-to-get-to places with electrical tape, so there was a reason, I would investigate a little further.

That was the stock wiring, no one has touched that harness since I got the truck new. Not sure how to figure out what that pin is for either, looked through the 2013 electrical wiring diagrams and couldn't find it
