Obd2 reader loose

    Hey I just bought a 2017 Toyota Tacoma SR5 I went to check if there were codes my obd2 reader is loose it’s missing screws can some one please help

    Since you posted this twice it must be very important. Can't you just go to your local hardware store and buy screws?

    i thought they use special screws for the obd2 sensor

    I think we need to clarify what we're talking about; there is no "OBD II sensor", there is an OBD II port (Really the DLC port) located above your left knee under the dash. Are you saying that's not firmly affixed to the dash structure, or ?

    yes that's it i tried to plug in my reader and it's loose i looked under yesterday and its missing the screws

    Okay, makes sense. Got whacked by a knee a few too many times. Should be any easy fix. Worst case scenario, use a couple of small wood acres to attach it to the dash structure (just check first to make sure the area is clear).

    '13 5 lug AC w/convenience package
    A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    Just hold it in your hand and plug in your reader. No requirement for it to be mounted to work.

    Then fix at your leisure.

    Is it the OBD II port that's loose or the bracket? My 2020 SR5 OBD II port is clipped in to the metal bracket. Is the entire metal bracket loose, or just the white plastic port?
    It just need to be clipped back in.
