I absolutely refuse to believe that lack of willpower is an illness. I think we have way too many labels for things nowadays. If you're obese it's because you either make poor choices with your diet, don't excercise enough or both. If you're fine with that, great, power to ya but I can't stand when people whine that it's an illness. No one is forcing Big Mac's down your throat.

I agree, not an illness. Its a way for them to pass the blame. Responsibly. Whats that?

Meh... not buying it but that's just me personally. I've seen the reality shows about it and I feel no sympathy for those people. Maybe I'm just being an ass but I think calling it a disease and an addiction is plain wrong. Labels like that then lead to it being a disability and I'm sorry but being a 600 lb slob because you're too ignorant to stop stuffing your face is not a disability and discredits those who truely are disabled through no fault of their own.

    I'm with this guy ^^^^

I don't understand why fat people get handicap stickers. They should park in the back of the lot.

Some people may be too ignorant to realize that some people, not all, are obese due to their handicap.

I'll buy a little overweight if your handicap prevents you from being active, but being morbidly obese can not be blamed on a handicap and being morbidly obese is not a handicap in itself in my opinion.

IMO many factors contribute to someone becoming obese, it could be a mental thing, education, class/financial status and just how you were raised.
If you're "addicted" to food why not just stuff yourself with healthy food, salads, greens, etc...Just by going to a fast food joint indicates how much that obese person lacks in caring about their health and the consequences associated with being obese.
I think the whole "addicted to food" excuse is BS, otherwise they would eat anything that is food including all that really healthy food. It should be called "addicted to very unhealthy fast food".
But hey we are all free to do what we want to our bodies right? Just don't let it affect others in a negative way like our wallet's when my health ins. premiums go up.

I believe in supermarkets they should just make really long isle. All the healthy food down the entrance then the further down you go the unhealthier the food gets. So right at the end of the one long isle you have your fries, icecream, pastries. And NO scooters allowed in the store. Walking only!

as far as i know those really aren't "poorer" places, they are more of higher income places. And I use the word poor loosely, not trying to be racist or anything but you do see more minorities in poorer places...
