Obscure Movie Help

I just had a flash memory from when I was a little kid of a movie my dad was watching on TV, and I'm trying to figure out what it might be. All I can remember is two guys in separate adjoining fully enclosed prison cells. For some reason one turns into a growing inferno with the guy inside. His neighbor can hear something wrong and starts shouting for help, and then sees the adjoining wall start glowing. I think my dad realized I was watching or something because I can't remember anything after that. Must have been an 80s or very early 90s movie. Ring any bells?

 

My best guess is The Hidden (1987). The jail cell thing seems to ring a bell.
