Are you sure about that? Or maybe I misunderstand what you're saying?

I could swear that when the truck was new, I could use the tuning know to scroll through folders (say like from "Beatles" to "Dire Straits"). But after some forced entune update, that no longer works for me. Now the only way that I can go from "Beatles" to "Dire Straits" is to go to the touchscreen menu and scroll the list (dangerous while driving), or use the voice commands to "Play Artist Dire Straits". If you know another way using the tuning knob, PLEASE tell me!

I can scroll, select, go back, and change source with just the steering wheel controls. I can use the tuning knob to scroll (faster) and select, but that's it.

Updated a few folders on my USB drive. Appended the album date before the album name in the ID3v2 tags. Now the albums are in chronological order, and the unit reflected the changes with no problem. Now to find a way around the pesky 9999 file limit.

I was a little skeptical about a USB hub working with the radio, but it does. Most radios can't handle USB hubs.

But why the 9999 file limit Toyota? Why??!

Edit, I just read through the thread and see you can do this, I’m going to try it with a 4 port hub, also I’ll try partitioning a 1tb external drive I to four 256Gb partitions to test it

I’m wondering if you could put 4 usb sticks into one hub so you would have 9999 files x 4

I think Entune will only see the first partition of each device, but I wouldn't mind being proven wrong on this :D

Yeah, I use Bluetooth to stream music ie Soma FM, it’s free. But I don’t use ITunes and have about 1TB of MP3s

Wow, the volume control is separate below now? On my '17 OR, it's part of the 4way switch above.

Yeah the first one I had posted, I saw the button and couldn't make out what was on it, so I found a better picture.

    Hello,

    Somebody made this statement :

The problem: If you changed the ID3 tags in the removed/reinserted drive, the Entune system may NOT recognize all the changes, and may classify some of the files under the previous Title / Album name.

I think I see this, When the Entune scans my USB, it builds a list with several duplicated songs in the folder/album.
There are only about 5000 songs on the stick arranged properly. When the scan is done, it displays that there over 8000 songs.
If I go to an album, say ACDC Powerage, there are 2 of each MP3 file. But is does not happen for all Albums, but it does for about 80% of them.

Is there a way to reset the Entune memory ?

    Thanks.

Try giving the drive a different partition label, or if none, change the UUID. Seems to force a complete rescan for me

I don't suppose it's possible to remove XM from the sources list? I don't plan on renewing the subscription.

If you figure out a way to make it just step through ALL the folders on the flash drive, please report back here. I could swear that mine did that when new. But after one of the "updates" it would no longer work that way.
