They are the gunmetal. I thought the grey would be too matchy - needed some contrast.

Got some work done today. Hoping to button everything up tomorrow. Took me forever to get the turn/run/stop module to work. Ended up being an issue with my front turn signals and mis-wiring them. Leave it to Drag Specialties to use weird colors. Oh well. Anyway, some pics below:

Seat installed. I know, not another spring seat. I got a REALLY good deal for this so I couldn't help myself. $200 with the mount. I'll take it.

Sprocket painted and mounted. Looks good if I do say so myself...

Rear fender installed. You can also see my tail lights. No brake light anymore!

Under the fender. I tried to make it look nice under there and keep the turn signal wiring out of the way. I need to cover the wires higher up too. I'll do that before I throw on the rear tire.

Got everything buttoned up today. Still have a little work, including cleaning the bike. Also finished my 15000 mile service with the oil change (everything else had already been done including changing the primary fluid). I was absolutely floored that it fired right up once I put gas in the tank. Considering the carb stuff I did and the new plug wires I cut, the fact that it runs so well is... surprising. I'm going to wash it before I post pics of the final product. Oh, one major issue is the rear rotor. Holy crap that thing is warped. I had hoped it was still okay, but driving it around the block proved otherwise. It is VERY rough. Pulses like crazy when the brake is applied, and even when you're just pushing it around it starts rubbing the pads pretty hard. I've ordered a new one that I should have this week. Anyway, oil change pics:

Got my rotor thrown on there and my gas tank cap. Rotor is nice and straight and no more pulsing. Love the gas cap too! Matches my grips and pegs perfectly!

Alright some proper pictures of the bike finished. Stupid rear master cylinder is toast and needs to be rebuilt. Can't get a proper bleed for the life of me. Outside of that it's all done.

So... hate to resurrect an old thread but I just recently purchased a Tundra for the wife. I'm working that build right now over on Tundras.com. Any interest in bringing that over here or is that a terrible no-no?

Bring it over here man! I'd love to see how it turns out.

Do you still have your Taco? I am wondering if you have had any issues with the headlights after the BHLM. I live in SLC and was thinking about calling up the guy you had do yours.

No issues with it, but then again I sold the Taco shortly after doing it. I've got a different guy that does it for me now, but he's a little spendy. Blacked out my Tesla lights recently and they're perfect. MUCH better than the other guy did, but at a premium. Happy to pass you his info if you want it!

So one of my favorite things is to see a transformation, and this truck is no different. However, this will not be my truck, but my wife's. She sold our 2016 Yukon XL:

It's funny, we test drove Escalades, Volvo's, Audi's, Benz's, and she LOVES the Tundra best of all! We'll see if she still does once I finish with it. Here's a pic of her with her truck the day we picked it up:

Congrats on the Tundra but no way I could have given up the Yukon for one. Just out of curiosity why not a Silverado or F150? I know this is a Toyota forum but the Tundra is warmed over 10yr old news a this point :notsure:

It's true, no fundamental changes in a long time, but honestly I lost 20K on the Yukon when we sold it, and you'd NEVER see that on the Tundra. I'd rather be investing in a value retaining vehicle than a money pit. Also, the Yukon was starting to have some pretty major issues - leaking head, needed a radiator replacement, plastics were warping, etc. It only had 33K miles when we sold it. The other sell was the back seat in the Tundra. My wife LOVED how big it was.

Dang you weren’t joking about his price. $700! I guess it’s still cheaper than Pro headlights.

I saw your Taco out in the wild this weekend. Still looks great! Now I want some SCS Ray 10’s.

Yeah, that was about how much he charged me for my Tesla lights. He does pretty amazing work though. WAY better than my last guy and he stands by his work.
