OC Shop - Remote Tailgate Lock Installation

Hi! Looking for any recommendations of a good shop in Orange County, CA where I could get the remote tailgate lock (

$162 pk3b6-35js0 toyota genuine 2019 & newer tacoma short wheelbase tailgate lock (PK3B6-35JS0)

pk3b6-35js0) installed on my 23 Tacoma - Trail Edition.

I’ve given up trying to get it done by my dealership as no-one there seems to know how to do it! The last service contact I asked was talking to his ‘vendor’ and then said his vendor called him back and mentioned that the 2023 Toyota Tacoma tail gate is equipped with a power lock - which is not the case for my Trail Edition trim! Last I heard, 2 weeks ago, he was still researching it but I’m not holding my breath at this point.

Several videos on YouTube showing how to install and run the harness. It's not hard to install. Just takes a little time.

 

Yeah, +1. Especially with the OEM having the little grommet and everything. It’s satisfying to do it yourself and not hard.

 

Thanks man. Yes I've installed a few of them. Not hard, just have to watch cable routing and such.
