Awesome link! I wish they would show when the page was last updated, though.

By the way, the road to the summit is not called Maple Springs. That would be the trail from the end of the paved road to an area called "Four Corners." Following that, there are options to go to Harding Truck Trail (looks like the preferred path on TW) to "Santiago Peak," or up North Main Divide...

    This is useful: http://www.r5.fs.fed.us/cleveland/recreation/ohv/mvum2009/trabuco_north_august2009.pdf
And the trail "codes" are in the previous link provided.

EDIT: For the record, that makes it look like HTT up to Santiago Peak is closed to motorized vehicles, but I was there just a week ago and it was in fact open. :D

Only one other Taco 2x4 with an Icon 3" lift, Gibson exhaust, CB and a few 50cc dirtbikes in the bed. Real nice guy, but he's not really on the forums much. Meet wasn't bad, until somebodies Integra got hot wired and jacked, and the guy flew into an S-turn at 100mph...totaled the car and ditched it before the cops arrived.

I made it to the summit twice in the last week. Maple Springs just goes up the switchbacks after passing the town of Silverado. The road that we turn right on to get to the summit is North Main Divide, and they only close that when we have a really hard rain. I've even seen it open while covered in snow.

    x2 on the CB radios.

If the trail is closed you can rent a key from riverside county for 100 bucks for a year. You get the 100 back wen you return it.

Yea.. but its only $5 at BIg5 that's including tax. So if we decide to stop and kick back somewhere up there to eat it won't be a problem

oh! and if we don't stop anywhere you can re-use that pass as long as you don't scratch the month or date :D

 What!!!? Didn't know that was possible!? Isn't that just a liability for the county? Say some idiot buys the key and decides to go mudding up to Santiago Summit during a flash flood and slides off the mountain...who's at fault?

The general store in Silverado also sells them. Not a bad place to stop and get some water and snacks too if anybody forgets.

I've never heard of that! I've been up there a number of times and the gate has been closed, figured I was out of luck.

His fault it's a public road. It also would be the first second or third time that has happen. My buddy helped recover a jeep that was on the side of the mountain. It was pretty muddy took 3 trucks to anchor and winch.

I've been up there once during heavy rain it's do able but you got to e smart. I was at 10 psi going really slow made it to the main devide and just turned around.
We had a group run on here a while back, we went up there all The way through to corona thought the gate was locked when a guy with a jeep came up. We asked if he had a key he said yeah, and explained that you can rent one from the county of riverside.
