Was pulling out of my driveway today and I heard the more awful scrapping noise so I stopped and got out...for some reason my neighbors' recycling box was under my truck and it got wedged tight between the payment and my leaf spring housing (?). The black piece of metal lowest to the ground in the rear.

I pryed it free and threw the damn box aside. Checked for damage...everything looks and feels okay but then again I never had to feel around there before. No noises on the road...

I'm thinking the undercarrige of the truck should be strong enough not to get messed up by a plastic recycling bin but you never know. I'm just OCD about this shit.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but check if you dropped your vagina in the driveway.

Yours must be bleeding, that’s the only reason I can see for being a complete douche bag. The dude wants to make sure he didn’t hurt anything on his 30k+ investment.

    I don’t blame him.

I’m being sarcastic and you know that was funny.

My point is that it’s a truck, drive over it and keep going, then check for leaks.

If it’s smaller than your truck, hit it, if it’s bigger than your truck then swerve.

I get that it's a truck and all but it also doesn't seem like the leaf spring housing should really ever come in contact with anything.

Still it's only plastic? I'm assuming the plastic would give before any real stress was put on the metal.

If it’s plastic, drive over it through it whatever you want.

Few people realize these trucks are designed to run over concrete parking blocks at 60 MPH. “Not that I’ve ever done that.”

Yeah I guess. But with hard plastic I was sorta unsure as those recycling bins don't crumple easily.

Only on this site would a question about running over a recycling bin turn into borrowing vaginas, and asking sisters first with a lil spelling bee mixed in..

You should be fine, it won’t damage it. Not sure how thick the bins are but just check the fuel tank if it was on the drivers side. Not likely it would puncture but that would be the only concern.

Our trucks in many ways aren’t as durable as some people think. I just read about multiple members just recently who broke their back up sonar sensor housing just trying to readjust their bed that should have been correct to begin with.

I don’t blame the OP just for checking with others for reassurance. Sure it’s metal vs. plastic, but our trucks in some ways are pretty shitty built. Glad everything seems fine man!
