i recently moved to the gulf coast and make frequent trips to the beach and also to brackish waters. i dont drive on the beach, but usually park within 50-200 yards of the water. 50 for brackish, 200 for salt. im curious about the effects this may have on my frame. 2003 taco here...i dont have any bad frame rust yet, barely any at all actually... but am curious if anyone has from beachy areas and what you recommend.

I'd start lookin into fluid film or some other kind of anti corrosive coating. There are a few options but fluid film is non toxic so that's kinda nice.

I installed a brand new toytec suspension lift on my taco and shortly after went camping for a week on the beach in S. Carolina. I couldn't believe how fast all my new suspension mounting hardware started discoloring, not rust more like corrosion. I quickly went to wal mart and bought a couple cans of WD40 and sprayed everything, my wife was laughing at me. Soon as i got home i washed it from top to bottom.
