This question has probably been beat to death but any chance running higher octane help/hurt with the 2.7?
In a honda 4cyl i had i definitely noticed a slight performance difference when i ran 93 vs 86 perhaps it had something to do with the brand as well
Here anyways the choices are basically 86,89,93

Engine will not benefit from higher octane unless it is spark knocking under load and if it's doing that you have other issues. Stock engine is not high compression and doesn't need or even want extra octane.

Welcome to TW. It won't make any difference. But it's your money!

No difference for our engine, and many times they top off the 93 storage tank with 87 at the station anyway.

May want to look into "Top Tier Detergent Gasoline" certificaton though

I have a local farmers CO-OP near by that only sell 100% gas in 87,89,and 93.. $3.80 per gallon for 93% is all Ive used since buying my truck new with 4 miles on it.

I do know one thing for sure..there will be no gunk build up in my engine.....YES,IF YOU HAVE ETHANOL IN YOUR GAS IT WILL EVENTUALLY BUILD UP GUNK DEPOSITS IN YOUR ENGINE

I think using good oil makes a difference too some say its all the same.
Last time I used amsoil it was close to $20 a quart but apparently supposed to go 12k miles on the regular and 25k miles on the signature series which is insane.

I'm no fan of ethanol but the fuel does not go through the intake on our trucks so how is it going to form deposits in it?

    A LOT of fun.
You probably know about the one still the crate that was out there floating around for a bit some years back.
So tempting at the time, but I think it went for 30K ish.

If I'd bought a crated one I'd just ruin it by building it and riding it like the one I had in 1992.

I don't believe there is a second one in existence, and that one is still in the crate, last I heard of it.

I think so. I remember seeing it on the trike sites. I'd have definitely ruined it though. LOL!
