I just discovered a really random AC issue I am having with my 2012 Tacoma access cab. Hoping it is something easy.

With the A/C on (Doesn't matter if it is on recirc or not), the vent on the left of the drives side blows significantly colder and the other (3) vents in the dash blow hot.

I pulled out my infrared thermometer, the left drivers vent is blowing at anywhere from 60*-62* F with the A/C while the other (3) vents in the car blow anywhere from 80*-85* getting progressively hotter as you move towards the passenger side of the vehicle.

From the troubleshooting I have done it is not the cabin air filter, I am assuming there is nothing wrong with the compressor because it blows fine out of one vent.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

60-62f is still to warm if your compressor is working fine. I'd suspect a blend door issue.

I had the exact ( cold on the left and progressively warmer as you move to the right ) same issue last summer. It was a low 134a coolant charge in the AC System. You have a small leak. Take it to a shop that does AC Work, I had mine charged at Toyota and they could not locate the leak. It has been fine since, if it gets warm again ( I'm sure it will slowly ) I will take it back

Had this issue while still under warranty. Mine was low coolant due to small leak, AND debris in the line. Before that was found Toyota simply re charged my system. Same thing happened again. Toyota discovered the leak, and metal debris in the line, from the factory. Toyota replaced everything from vents to compressor- TWICE, under warranty. Major issue, but fixed now.

Also- if you change/ disconnect battery, A/C tjaes 10-15 mins to reset, while rruck is on. Normal.

If A/C light blinks and blows warm- chec the magnetic clutch relay...
