It's like there's dirt in this paint seam. Even if it isn't dirt, it's quite black. It looks like the paint has began to lift as well. Anyone ever experience this?

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
never saw it before, but could it be the stone chip stuff that was on the bottom? I gotta think that there is a way to make that look somewhat better.

Hard to tell with the pic but it looks like the edge of the paint protection film. Have any larger pics?

If it is you can take a hair dryer & heat up the film then peel it off. If their is any adhesive left over use something like Goo Gone to remove it.

Looks like your clear plastic gravel guard is peeling and getting dirt in it.

Hm... stupid question, but was this something that is put on at the factory? Bought the truck used. As long as doesn't look ghetto, I'll remove the film.

It probably was. You can have the paint protection film installed anytime. It's just a heavy duty clear decal. A lot of people install the film on the front edge of their hood & front bumper area to keep rocks from chipping the paint. This is referred to as a "clear bra".

Is it possible that the panel was repaired before you bought it?? Could be poor application/prep of the chip guard prior to painting ????
