I put some HD Dakar leaf packs on my 3rd gen trd OR DC. I also put a pair of FOX adjustable 2.5 coil-overs on in the front and a pair of adjustable 2.0 FOX shocks in the rear as well. For additional weight on my truck, I have a aluminum canopy and a pair of steel rock sliders. I typically carry stuff in my truck bed but that all varies. I determined that the HD pack is too stiff for me, so I plan on pulling a leaf off of each pack in the next week or so in an attempt to settle the rear end down.

The question I have is that with nothing in my truck bed, just canopy and sliders, my front end feels very soft. Can the stiff leaf packs in the rear put more pressure, or directly effect my front suspension? It feels like my springs are under rated. For example, when i'm driving and touch my brakes, my front end significantly dips. In my mind, I tell myself thats because my rear end is too stiff but thats 100% pure speculation. However, when i'm riding heavy in the rear it, the front seems much much firmer. I guess i'm just asking if over powered leaf springs will act on your front coil-overs, or if there is no correlation because its all in my head lol.

I am going to rebuild my leaf packs next week so I should find the answer to my question, i'm just curious now and figured some TW experts could educate me. Thanks guys

2.5” lift, Fox 2.5 ext tvl adjustable w/ DSC, SPC adjustable UCAs, Icon RXT leaf pack, Superbump stops, 17x9 Fuel Podium Bronze wheels, 285/70/17 Cooper STT Pro
I had a 3 leaf add a leaf pack on my rear with my Fox 2.5 adjustable setup. I recently changed the entire leaf pack to the Icon RXT. This is a softer leaf pack. Both the front and rear suspension felt quite a bit softer and the ride was even more comfortable and plush.
So, I can say that having a softer leaf pack does also affect the front shocks

Right on thanks for the input, I pulled my DAKAR packs apart yesterday and pulled a leaf out and reinstalled and the truck now rides much much better. Both the front and rear are much softer, it still rides like a truck, but at least now my vertebrate has a chance of making it to 40 lol

The last of my lift parts will be here Monday. I was town between the 95s and 96s. Makes me feel better about going 95s. Thought I could always add a leaf later if need be, but I usually run an empty bed, but have rear bumper, sliders, and armor.
