I have a similar sound. Had it in my first gen as well. Sounds like change rattling or almost like metal chimes. Noticable at low speed over bumps, or luggin the truck a bit. Mechanic thought it might be the exhaust hitting the heat shield, but couldn't verify. May be a different noise than the other posts though.

Ever since I put my lift on...............I got the "shing shing shing shing" at the driver side front!!! ONLY AT 35 to 37 MPH!!!! And only after the truck has warmed up for a few miles. Annoying as fuck and i can't finger it out.

My dad's truck has this same thing. 09 DCSB Sport never off road always driven city/highway. I have heard it when riding with him, he is going deaf so he has no clue what I'm talking about.

I had an annoying sound kind of like what you describe that was comin from the passenger front. I searched everything from heat shields to the convertors. It ended up being the brake dust shield slightly touchin my steering knuckle. Check both front dust shields

If you have or can borrow one of those mechanic's "creepers" for working under vehicles, you can get your buddy to drive the truck and you can ride underneath on your back, listening for strange noises...

Had similar issue - all 3 exhaust heatshields appear to be aluminum and mine appeared to be in place - but on examination almost all the mounting holes were eaten away and the retaining nuts essentially hold nothing.

Added some fender washers and reinstalled, noise gone.

I had an issue just like that, and could not figure it out. I thought it was the thin front skid bouncing against the frame or close metal, but it was not. The truck has this metal retainer on the rear brake lines that screws into one of the rear leaf pack spring retainers. IF the bolt backs out and comes off of this it will sound exactly like what you are saying. It is very easy to see it so checking would not be hard. If you are facing the tires look towards the front of the truck on the outside (facing back at you) of the leaf pack, if it not there you will need to look further down or up the cable for the retainer, just get a new bolt and reattach it, and the ring is gone. Thats my jingling issue, and how I solved it. Good Luck

P.S. if you have trouble finding the ring lay under the truck and tap on things to see if you can generate the rattle again. If not you may want to put it up off the ground and try again. Be safe though.

Hey guys so i'm gonna revive this thread because i'm having this same problem and i've gone thru pretty much everything mentioned here and found no cure to my "jingling"... I've checked all heat shields, body mounts, leaf spring retainer clips, brake dust shields, and brake line retainers... everything seems to be tight. The sounds seems to be coming from the rear driver side... anyone come up with any other remedies for this since '11?

Mine 03 and i had it to, it was a heat shield. You actually had to ping it like tuning fork to get it to rattle. The bolts have a lock ring that had broke so i had to put a new washer on it.

Just did some investigating and my change rattling/squeaking noise is coming from my spare tire. I just hit it pretty gently and it made the squeaky noise. The harder I hit the louder it was which makes sense why I can hear it with the windows down when I hit any kindof bump. Going to take it off tomorrow and find the source.

Check the chain that holds up the spare tire.
