A little of this and a little of that.
+1. Had the same thing happen when my wife drove a Honda Odyssey. We were coming home from a trip to Orlando, Florida and were less than a mile from our house. Maybe it's not that uncommon afterall.

Way back when I used to repair auto's, I once found a pair of side cutters (dykes) inside a flat tire. I still have and use them today. That was in 1988.

I have been doing tires for a few years, passenger and commercial and have seen some pretty weird things. Commercial tires have some large objects sometimes.

    On the list:
    A bullet
    A syringe
    Pliers
    Screwdriver
    Wheel weights
    Scissors
    Rebar a few feet long
5 inch diameter rock (the kind trucks drive over on construction sites)
    2x4's
    Allen wrenches
    Jack handles
    Brake pads
    Drill bits
    Razor blades

I am sure there are more but those are what I could think of now.

The weirdest by far was the bullet I pulled out of a passenger car working at Les Schwab.

Friend had a screw driver, but it was from the inside of the tire. Truck was brand new (chev). Must have been dropped in there in the factory.

When I was working in a service station up in Casper Wyo., fixed a flat tire that had a smashed flat tuna can in it, go figure.

Got a bolt in one of mine once, approximately 6" long, 1/2" shank, and was thumping off the 3/4" head. Blunt end, but punched it through somehow.

Don't ask me how a body mount was just laying around miles away from civilization. A couple tire plugs and I was on my way.

I had a 16 penny duplex nail in the tire of a 2002 Sienna I used to have. The double head kept the tire from deflating but it did cause a very slow leak. I kept on filling up the tire and after about a month, the tire light would come on again. I finally broke down and had it examined by my mechanic and he found the nail.

Election season in 2004 and I found this razor in my tire. Couldn't be repaired.

The better question is HOW was I able to climb hills in a dropped truck.

the answer is, this was in a 86 XJ (Cherokee), not my taco

It wasn't on my Taco, but my HET in Afghanistan. I had just replaced the front axle, parts of my Central Tire Inflation System, and my tires. I parked my truck in our staging area to get it ready for mission the next day. I came out to get ready prior to leaving and found a nice bullet hole in my left front steering tire. They had shot over our wall and put a round right in my tire..... While in Iraq in '08, picked up a 50 cal round (still live), still cant figure out how it didnt pop while going down the road. Pushed it in so far that the rim was almost flush with the space between the tread.
