The odo and trip stopped spinning. Speedo and all other gauges work fine. No blown fuses. I disassembled the instrument cluster- no broken gears or visible wear. Speed sensor plug and wiring look good. Could a faulty speed sensor affect just the rolling gauges and not the speedo?

I bought a used instrument cluster on the cheap and am waiting to plug it up. My running theory is that the motor that turns the odometer and trip may have gone on to glory. We’ll soon see.

The Speedometer is gear driven at the transmission.

You need to be sure that the new one (if needed) matches the gear tooth count of the old one.
Other wise, the mph and mileage will be wrong.

Thanks for the reply! Thats interesting- there’s no way to check the gear count before buying but if they differ maybe I can just swap the motors?
