A small handful of select mods.
Custom Splice never offered an Offset fairlead at all until I started talking to them. We developed the thick 1.5" fairlead together which is the one they sell now. Your Slee one will work just fine. Just make sure that rock guard is near the bumper if you have to do a side pull. It will protect you from the bumper sides where it's recessed and could make contact.

I clocked the winch today in preparation for install, disengaged it and spun the drum for the first time only to find some scratches in the powdercoat on the underside. I peeled the yellow warning label from below and it was scratched below the label as well. Amazon has a new one on the way. strike one for smittybilt

Been busy trying to get things ready for spring/summer trips. Its always two steps forward and three steps back it seems though. Got some good progress on the parts pile the past few weeks with bed organization/power coming along slowly but surely. Got everything ready for the winch install as well but I need to finish making the control box mount. The three steps back include getting hit by someone not paying attention last Sunday and having to wait until a body shop has availability. We shall see what happens tomorrow when I make some phone calls. I really just need to do some basic maintenance stuff myself when/if it is going to be sitting for a bit like I have been doing the past few weeks. I am sure I am going to get called into the backyard to plant vegetables soon so I might should hurry before that call comes. 1st post updated with stuff finished recently for my log and anyone who is watching along.

Well, I had planned to spend the week camping/wheeling in Moab, but after someone hit my front passenger side I was unsure if Id get away at all. I didnt want to take a rental truck but the body shop was able to get the mechanical stuff fixed prior to the week ending. Wednesday morning I picked it up and loaded it with gear again. Rochelle got off work about 530 and we hit the road. I got to Grand Junction and was starting to get a bit of rain so I decided it best to stop for the night in Rabbit Valley to camp rather than pressing on into a storm and potentially setting up in the dark mud/rain. We woke up early Thursday morning after a night of flapping tarps and rain pounding the tent and noticed the guy who pulled in after us had a make shift tarp. Weary we booked it to Dewey Bridge where we hoped to encounter @YamaDirtrider with his wife and dog. We explored the bottom of top of the world but did not find them at the location they sent. Traveling through Colorado over the mountains through the night and waking up to the red rocks of Moab makes me think that may be the closest i ever get to taking a rocket ship to Mars.

We were unsuccessful finding Josh and Chelsea as the wind and rain the previous night had them relocate to a different area but we were able to meet up in town an after grabbing some gas and groceries we went towards the national parks. We drove through Arches and Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands then came back into town.

The boss ladies voiced their opinions about camping in the wind and rain again and we ended up indoors for a night in town. It ended up being better for me too because my pup needed a break from it all after being a trooper on the first two days of road travel.

We woke up Friday morning well rested and made some breakfast before hitting a trail. I had previously traveled the Kokopelli but did not realize I was on Dome Plateau for much of the end of the trip. I dont think we traveled through the whole trail then after riding it again this past Friday. It is always a scenic trip anywhere you go in Moab but the arches, domes and views of this trail have it all.

It is rated easy and while it didnt give us much trouble a foolish error on my part left me high centered and needing a winch after making it through the real obstacle. Always look again at whats in front after spotting someone down the harder part especially when someone says hey let me take your picture. lesson learned.

We headed back to dewey bridge and found a campsite for the night. The wind was absent but the cool air did neccessitate a campfire. We cooked dinner and had drinks and stories until it got late enough to call it a day. I woke up the next morning and decided to head back sooner than planned as Rochelle is at work today. Overall a great get away even though it was briefer than I had originally planned.

After having the ray10 wheels sitting in boxes for months I finally got the discount tire deal I'd been waiting on. I ordered some Cooper stt pro in a slightly larger size. The added height of the 285 75 16 was barely noticeable and despite trimming and getting a cmc in preparation I still have some fender flare to trim. The blemishes were negligible on the set i got from scs and I'm happy with the outcome. I still need a used 285 75 for a spare and don't really want to do a 5 tire rotation again although I might have to.

So I went over to bretts house this morning to get a hand installing my winch and finishing the front bumper that has been barely hanging on. The old man still has it, he bench pressed the winch into position while I tightened it down. Thanks again @StarLord.
