You will get better gas mileage. Instead of 18 mpg you will get 18.2.

I had the same issue with my tundra vs my 2020 tacoma. I knew the tundra was spot on, but driving this tacoma it read quite a bit high when compared to the tundra driving the same roads. I had the dealer check it out on my first toyota care visit. Don't know what they did, but it dead on now.

I have stock tires, only 150 miles on this 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport truck. I will try GPS. My 2020 tacoma TRD Off Road and my 2017 Tundra TRD OFF ROAD had stock tires also. But maybe they were wrong?

I put 265/75r16s on and now my speedo is correct. Verified with GPS and mile markers. Many others have had the same experience.

I wasn't really worried about it before. You shouldn't be either.

I know it's probably no big deal, just something I noticed because every time you shut down the Tacoma it prints the miles you have driven that trip.

Hey, we get it. It’s a brand new truck, and like all of us, you pay attention to the little details.

Just for info. I used my Garmin GPS and it registered 9.3 miles. However on the truck digital mph it read 45, gps read 44 - truck 50, gps 48 and 49mph mostly 49mph. I dont know how reliable gps mph is unless you are on a strait road?? Appreciate all of everyone's input on this, nice having app like tacomaworld!

GPS will be extremely accurate on curvy roads as long as satellite lock is maintained. If lock is lost while going around turn it will calculate straight line distance from point it lost lock to point it picked it up again.

I don't trust gps all the time vs a calibrated rader gun. We did comparisons years ago. For some reason the gps always read 1 mph high vs the radar gun.

    It's actually a 9% margin.
J1226 states +/- 2% over a sliding scale of -1% to +4% depending on temperature and voltage; so a possible tolerance of -3% to +6%.
