Oh absolutely! I am very interested to see how the brushes look at 155K. Not sure if I can get into it this week but soon. Maybe tomorrow.

eta: As I posted this Amazon delivered the new ones.

Sure, RockAuto sells crappy products, but I don't have any reason to believe that Denso doesn't make quality remans. What's your reason?

I am assuming that Denso doesn't rebuild them like the used to, but I don't know, seems awfully cheap. I hope it's great....would be good news for everyone.

I checked my original alternator brushes today at 316k. One is gone but the other still has some life so I'm sending it. I figure another 100k.

Impressive to see them that good. They used a good quality brush on them.

First I unclipped some wire harnesses out of the way, removed the wire harness plug, the voltage wire, a steel bracket, the oil dipstick bracket, and then the alternator bolts and adjusting bolt assembly which all was easy once I saw how to do it.

Once off, a few 8mm bolts and one 10mm bolt opened up the back cover, and then two JIS screws on the old brush assembly. Air blasted out tons of black dust. Then reassemble and clean the outside with a copper brush and a rag soaked in brake cleaner.

Looks like it's only $5 now from the dealer.
