Just an FYI. My 2006 did not have the Vehicle speed sensor wire in the 20 pin connector on the truck. I can confirm the the HU does require it for the GPS to work. You can access this wire and splice into it where it goes into the ECU. It's a violet and white wire in the second plug from the bottom.

    Question for anyone:
I use the left/right button on my steering wheel control to scroll through the XM stations. I start at 2 and go through to 17. When I get to 17 and tap right one more time it goes back to 2. So I have to reach over to the radio and manually turn the scroll button to 19. I keep tapping right until I get to 44 and then it goes back to 19. I noticed that these groups (2-17 and 19-44) are groups of genres. Can anyone tap right and go from 17 to 19 or do you have to reach over and switch to 19 manually? This kind of defeats the purpose of the steering wheel control and is very annoying when I want to just flip channels. I don't have the JBL w/nav just the regular entune plus.

anyone having trouble getting the VIN to activate Entune on these units. I've had 3 VIN's, 2 from wrecked vehicles, they worked briefly then I was disconnected from using my apps. Now I can't even register with a new VIN and email.
    Anybody else having this issue?

I paid for my head unit 5-21 and received 5-24. Installed in my 2012 with the 20 to 28 pin adapter harness and the antenna conversion harness this afternoon in about 45 minutes. Everything installed and works flawless. Still waiting on my adapters to make the oem usb port in the dash work, other than that everything works great. Steering wheel controls, voice command, blue tooth, navigation and everything is spot on. Great deal on a great product!

I've had my radio installed for about a month now and absolutely love it! I recently drove to Las Vegas from Phoenix with my wife and my GPS stopped working. We were headed out of town but still very much in the Metro Phoenix area when my navigation started recalculating and didn't know where I was. The compass also didn't seem to know which direction I was going. This continued all the way to Vegas and back. We traveled NW to Vegas and it thought we were going East most of the time. My wife and I thought the GPS antenna had maybe just fallen from where it was but when we returned to town it picked right back up and started working at about the same place it had stopped when we left. In looking at the map coverage, the entire route should've been covered and especially all of the Phoenix Metro Area. Anyone else have anything like this happen to them?

Same here. I sent a PM to FLTrucks and within a few days the radio was in my possession. I see that you have a 2014 PreRunner, same as me. I have some questions if you don't mind fasteddie23. Does the Nav require a speed sensor (pulse) connection and if so does the truck harness have this already? also want to do a mod that hides my ipod in the glove box, does anyone have details on this?
    thanks

i just conducted a test on my unit using your scenario and I received the same results. it seems the left/right buttons advance stations only within the genre of the station it started on. Much like the scan button which will scan only within the selected genre. I am sure you know this but the up/down button stays within the favorites list.

I send you a pm in reference to your question. I believe I read somewhere in this forum that someone did the a mod and hid the ipod in the glove compartment if I find I'll let you know. Your radio should is a plug and play. You don't need the navigation cable that comes with it. :D

Thanks for checking Whiting! I talked to a friend of mine who has the same 2014 and he got the same results also. One can use the presets but there are only 36 of them max while there are 180 channels in the all access package. Granted, I don't listen to all of them but I'd like the option of flipping through them one after another using the steering wheel controls if I so desire. Just seems like a bad design. Maybe they'll come out with some sort of software update to fix this.

Hello everyone, new guy here. Here's to hoping I can get one of these units for my 2008 Taco :D. If I end up getting one I'll write up a detailed review in another thread (similar to Adio) regarding the installation. I hope all is going well FLTrucks.

Just wanted to add a bit to this thread. I ordered an XM Unit for my 2006. I did not have an XM Antenna in the truck so I had to go aftermarket. There is an easy solution to get the antenna installed using Toyota's proprietary plug. You need to buy one of these adapters: Adapter. Or you can buy it as a kit with the Antenna: Antenna & Adapter.

I mounted the antenna in the dash board in the pocket located behind the stereo - and so far it seems to be working ok. I have no experience with XM so I am not sure how consistent the signal is supposed to be. I tested it in a rural area with lots of hills and trees, and I received signal 90-95% of the time. Not sure if mounting the antenna externally would help or not...

Looks nice! Mine is in the mail and will hopefully arrive tomorrow. Did you find a VIN to use to activate the apps or are you not worried about that feature?

Scrolling thru XM using a steering wheel is due to a bad design idea. When using your steering when you will scroll thru the channel it is in. Try this using your seek button on the radio as well and you will see the same result. Once you get to the last station in the channel you will have to use the tune knob on the radio to go to the next channel selection. This is actually in all Toyota makes with the XM satellite.
