It sits under the head unit. The wire harness isn't much. Runs from the head unit to the ecu. image.jpg

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster.

I looked through this thread trying to find an answer, but after 20 pages and not seeing it, I thought I'd ask. I apologize if it's been asked before.

I have a 2015 Tacoma 4x4 with what I believe to be the lowest level of Entune, as I do not have XM on it, nor do I have the shark fin antenna on my truck. I'd like to upgrade to the nav unit, but was curious if XM would work or not. I know these kits are coming with a GPS antenna in case the shark fin is not installed, but I didn't know if my radio antenna (the standard pole antenna) would receive the XM signal. or if the XM receiver is in the unit itself.

Thanks for the help, I do appreciate it. And thanks to FLTrucks for letting this even be an option.

My 2015 came with Entune Plus. when i swapped it out for the Nav unit i had to move the XM receiver from the Entune+ to my new Nav unit. so you'll definitely need to also get the XM receiver to receive XM/Sirius signals. if you look at this other post https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mod-day-4-installing-2014-oem-radio-into-2013-pictures.310362/ in picture 12 you'll see a bit of a gap in the brackets below the unit. that gap is for the XM module.

since my truck has the shark fin i didn't need to use the antenna FLTrucks provided.

That's the XM module, not the Nav ECU. All the Nav parts (that enable navigation are inside the main unit and you would need to change the whole thing out. I'm currently trying to upgrade from a Non-Nav, Non-JBL Entune Plus to a Nav, JBL Entune unit I got from another member. The wiring is a little tricky without adding an amp. If it weren't for the JBL part, the whole thing would have been plug and play. If I cant figure it out soon, I'll end up selling the unit. If anyone on here is interested, PM me. (I don't want to jack FLTrucks' thread with people asking pricing ans shipping). I actually PM'd @FLTrucks about one of his units as well- still waiting for a response.

It took a little time...a few weeks maybe a month. Totally worth the wait, though.
