Has anyone upgraded a non aux radio(06 ) with a newer double din from a 2012 -15 ? I just want to have the aux feature/Bluetooth more than the steering wheel controls which mine does not have but have seen the steering wheel for sale, I’ve seen the aux input for sale and need
    To source the cable
Would also like to add The tailgate camera in the near future

I have a found a factory head unit/speakers for $100 , seller says it has the camera display on the unit, want an easy plug and play system that plays phone tunes sounded like a cheap
    Option

    All stock, baby!
I don’t have an answer for your specific question, but thought I’d share my solution for the audio part. I bought a Bluetooth to AUX adapter on Amazon for $30 (BESIGN BK01) and I’m pretty happy with it. It wouldn’t help you with the backup camera, but those are available aftermarket as well. The audio quality is quite good, unlike with any of the Bluetooth to FM adapters I’ve ever tried.

(edit) Upon rereading your post, seems likely that your truck’s radio may not even have an AUX input. If so, this clearly isn’t going to be a solution.

Correct no aux input, base model 06, had the vitals 5 spd,4x4, figured I could figure out the rest of my needs, and this head unit seemed like a plug and play.Yes my current remedy is the FM adapter isn’t terrible but leaves a lot to be desired….

I don’t think the radios are direct replacement. Believe some of the plugs changed around 2012 timeframe.

I would look at a cheap aftermarket radio and then get the needed wiring harness. Match colors of harness to radio and then it is pretty much plug and play.

I got a boss audio and it lasted 6 months. Maybe I had a bad unit but beware of cheap receivers.

My stock 2013 stereo would not work over bluetooth. I ended up putting in one of the Joying/Dasaita chinese android head units.

Get something with carplay/android auto, well worth it.

A lot of people have problems with their factory units. I’d just got with a aftermarket double din if it was me. Crutch field has always been good to me and comes with the wiring harness to hook it up in your truck with minimal splicing.

Update so I pieced together a 2015 oem head unit with touchscreen and blue tooth and mic work usb traffic and weather, bought an aftermarket camera but can not ge the signal to cut the display on the screen have verified camera works and signal to the head unit via a tv where I plugged the camera into while in reverse, probably start a new thread to layout all part numbers used and such if anyone has any experience with aftermarket camera with factory head unit plz chime in thx
