OEM air filter

Do any one know where I can get a cheap oem air filter for a 06 dbl cab? The dealers I call wanted to much for them.

 

If the dealers are too expensive, look on here or get another brand from your local auto parts store.

I don't know how much the dealer is charging you, but in the long run the cheapest route is probably an AFE Pro Dry S. It costs about $70, but you'll never need to replace it. Just clean it and put it back. Works great.

Find an auto parts retailer in your area that sells A/C Delco air filters. Have him pull the part number for your Tacoma; then open the box. You may be surprised to find a Toyota number on it.

Bought one of these for my wife's '06 Toyota Avalon a short while back. The air filter was an OEM Toyota filter in an A/C Delco box. Toyota doesn't make air filters. Guess I now know who makes Toyota air filters for at least one of their vehicles.

 

Huh, interesting! I guess it makes sense because Toyota is known for (1) using standard parts on all their vehicles (2) using sole outsourcers (like Denso).

 

If you did your own first plug change you'd know Denso isn't the sole supplier for plugs.

Like radiator caps - most of the ones i've seen are Denso, so i have a confirmation bias because i've seen NipponDenso caps on my dads hilux's as a kid and my taco radiator cap says denso on it now.

 

Denso is not really an outsourcer to toyota. they are for everyone else.

(toyota motor purchases for car parts makes up less than 50% Denso revenue,
