My truck came with the Toyota OEM All-Weather floor mats. They are good quality and other than maybe a limited capacity to hold water and melted snow in the winter, they are pretty good. That said: I went out and picked up a set of the WeatherTech Floor Liners. I have had them on prior cars. They are a little hard to get clean even scrubbing with a stiff brush, but this doesn't really bother me since they're dirty again anyway after only a few days: just from doing their job. They stand up though and they really shine on the early spring and fall trips to fishing and upland hunting where the roads are sometimes just a notch above "Swamp/Quagmire Classification".

I can't imagine what my carpets would look like with all the salty slush, snow, mud etc that I track in.

I got Husky's for the front, the OEM were nice but "sticky and soft" kept the rear OEM, no one sits in the back

Here is the comparison of the Husky X-act Contour (left) and WeatherTech High Performance (right) driver mat.

Both are made from similar rubber/plastic which is softer and not a hard plastic like the old WTs. The HPs are now easier to clean than the old WTs.

The WT is a little thicker than the Husky, enough to notice.

The top side of the Husky is higher and covers more of the foot rest but the WT has way better side protection next to the foot feed, keeping your foot from rubbing against the carpet on the hump.

The Husky has some weird warping towards the top that may or may not smooth out over time.

The Husky has a raised grid pattern where your heal rests for the throttle preventing possible wear-through.

The Husky has little troughs to capture water, etc. but these mean more areas to trap dirt/mud making cleaning not as easy.

WT no longer has a inset plastic nameplate to trap dirt and to get scuffed and look like crap after a while.

The Husky front set was $99 on Amazon, but I was able to get the WTs for $91 through work.

If you are to make a fair comparison of Huskys to WTs, you have to compare the Huskys to the new WT HPs since they are way better than the old style WTs.

I have had both types in two of my vehicles and I personally feel the HPs edge out the Huskys. The Huskys are really good mats, I just like HPs more.

I have no direct experience with the new style WT. I suppose they are better than the first generation of WTs which I did have for awhile and disliked them enough to toss them after 6 months and replaced them with Husky. I've had my current set of Huskys in two Tacomas and they do everything I expect of them. Just like any matt you put in there, they will get dirty if you're in and out of the truck during inclement weather and such. They are doing their job at keeping your carpet clean and dry. Pull them out, hose them down and they are just like new.

I had the weather Tech's in my 2015 Tacoma, the OEM in my curent '21 Taco, and Huskies in our Durango. All three are hard to clean. The Weather Techs are hard but have higher sides and cover more of sill. I prefer the OEM to be honest - they don't cover quite as much but do a great job none-the-less and are a little softer and grippier closer to the material that huskies use.

Great info, thank you. The picture helps a lot. Seems like it's a choice between dead-pedal coverage or better coverage near the gas pedal. Tricky decision.

Has anyone tried the Husky "Weatherbeater" liners? Or is everyone here running the X-Act?

i found Husky "Weatherbeater" liners to be hard like Weathertech first gen floorliner. Did not fit as well as x-Act.

I ordered the Toyota rubber mats with my truck, so far after 3 years they have held up fine...no issues.

Either Husky or Weathertech will be superior to the OEM. I’m a Husky guy.

Husky must've made some serious improvements. I had a set of Huskies in my '15 Sierra and they were kinda awful - the driver's mat started to warp after a while, they came loose occasionally and just didn't hold up well. But that was also 8 years ago....

I had Husky xact mats in my 2nd gen (you know, I think they are still in the garage somewhere, I ought to sell them), my '18 came with the Toyota rubber mats, I find them to be just fine. I don't care for the Weathertech mats myself, I like a more rubbery mat. If I had to buy a set, I'd go Husky again.

There’s two tiers these days. I had the lower end ones in my old jeep, they were just alright but the xact contour or whatever they are called are really nice.

IMO, Weathertech’s QC is slipping a bit. Wife bought me a set for Christmas this year, my 4th set. These are alright, just not the quality of the previous ones. Had a set of Husky liners in my 1st Gen, but they seemed cheap. I’ve heard the newer ones are better.

Nothing wrong with husky, I had them in my tundra. I think its pretty hard to go wrong choosing between any of these floor mats.
