Do you mind sharing the model of the Polk sub that works with your JBL system.

Are changing these speakers a simple plug and play or did you have to do any modifications?

The front doors were just plug and play if I remember correctly. But I usually cut off the old factory connectors and solder them to the new speakers so it is just plug and play (sort of). I also add some additional wire length so I am not stretched to the limit.

On the sub install there are some plastic ribs that need to be trimmed down to make it fit. Dremel works great or something like that. You will see once you open it up. Easy to do

I did get it. Came pretty nicely packaged in one large box. There is one "follow up" piece still coming, but expected to be here Saturday (I hope) or Monday that has to do with relocating one of the factory dash speakers so that I can keep my SOS button functionality as I've been told.

I'm in the process of getting everything laid out and inspected and will plan to get busy and start my install Saturday.

I’m in the same boat as you except I’ve gotten no communication about a second package. Sadly, I’ve gotten no response in a week.

I have a 2020 and had no idea that I am waiting on a second package as well for the SOS... I too, have not received any response in over a week from Daniel. Really starting to get frustrated with this whole thing

@oemaudioplus it would be great if you could provide those of us with a 2020+ that have the SOS button clarification about how we are suppose to connect everything, including this mysterious second package that not all of us are receiving.

Well, I must have gotten my info crossed up. I received a wire harness today, but it isn't anything that I would think has to do with the SOS option or re-using a dash speaker. The connectors don't match. Perhaps it was a harness that was part of the main kit that was inadvertently left out.

I installed the door speakers today and dash tweeters, then realized I don't have any instructions for the JBL upgrade. I might not need any as it is probably pretty self explanatory, but I emailed Support to ask anyway. I also asked for an update on that speaker relocation issue.

I'll post up when I get more info to share.

On a side note, the rear factory door speakers are really funny. The actual speaker is really tiny and the whole thing is mostly a bracket! At least it is angled upward. This speaker must serve only to reproduce highs.

I'm really looking forward to hearing this system in my truck.
UPDATE/CORRECTION: The wire harness I received IS for the SOS issue. The connector doesn't match my tweeter because the tweeter came with an adapter already installed. You must remove the adapter as shipped and it will fit!

I can't as I've already installed them and panels are back on. I hate to take anything plastic (clips and panels) off any more than I need to.
They are nice speakers. The front 6x9s are a little strange in that the magnet is pretty small, but the kit includes a "don't worry" type of notice that this is the new style speaker that uses a higher power, neodymium magnet so it doesn't need to be as large.

You can tell a lot about the quality of a speaker buy checking out the magnet. Usually a smaller magnet means a cheaper speaker. I can’t think of any high end speakers that have small magnets. Just like the carbon fiber cones they advertise. That is just for show and does nothing for the sound. Had cheap Altec Lansing carbon fiber speakers back in the 80’s that were crap. I’m guessing that’s why you don’t really see any good speakers using it. And what quality high end speakers have tiny magnets? I can’t think of any but maybe there is some.

The more I hear about this system the more disappointed I’m getting in it. I was hoping for more as I really don’t like the factory JBL system and was hoping this system was going to be the answer.

I mean, if the true OEM speakers are using ceramic (I'm guessing that Toyota would go as cheap as they could), then the neodymium magnets will be superior. But I see what you're saying, the price of this kit doesn't necessarily match up.
