Exactly. I used to put together systems of my own design in my vehicles but I just want it to work, be high quality, and if something goes wrong I’m not chasing down a response from multiple companies.

After a ton of research I went with the JL PowerWedge CS110TG-TW3 (10” sealed sub enclosure) instead of a stealthbox. Going to power it with their top of the line amp (xd1000), and audiofrog 6x9’s and tweeters. I will likely end up just under $2k with award winning sound. Sure it’s pretty pricey but I’ll save that 1k with a better system and trial and error+help from Tacomaworld (not to mention crutchfield support is ridiculously helpful) any day. If oem plus was around the same price I’d say it would be reasonable, but even then you still aren’t getting top of the line for the top dollar. To each his own I guess.

It will be interesting if OEM+ will piecemeal the parts out so a system can be built over time.

Yes, they are offering to purchase without speakers or sub if you want. that's what i did with mine (did sub+amp+tweeters first, then added speakers, then added second sub / dedicated amp)

I wouldn't just go off Tacomaworld figures... I for one ordered the full kit and know of 4 others who have as well who are not on the forum.

Different people place value on different items and different dollar amounts... its all relative to what each person perceives as valuable to them... just because one person with lambo doesn't want to spend the money doesn't make it any less valuable to the next person.

Yeah these are all valid points I was just pissed yesterday that I am gonna have to run wires and piece together everything little by little. After waiting for a long time for this kit the price just kind of left a sour taste in my mouth but alas here we are, sorry for bitching lol.

Oh I def get it! If I didn't have their previous full kit in my 4runner it would be a tougher pill to swallow for me.

I will certainly be back to give my thoughts on the system once I have it in... and if anyone is ever around NC, I would be more then happy to meet up with them so they can have a listen.

    This ^^^

What I have spent on road and mountain bikes would make some people cringe. They would never spend $XXX on bike. Thought I was crazy and made way more money than I. And I think most importantly is that having activities/sports and hobbies like modifying our trucks keeps a lot of people out of trouble!

Yeah. Bicycles get spendy fast. Also, I can’t afford drugs because Tacoma, Bikes, Photography and woodworking take all my spare change.

Great question. Thank you for confirming. The Amplification Suite installs using existing mounting hardware under the Driver Side Seat. This is likened to our Reference 500 Solution, only with our new Signature Edition Multi-Channel Amplifier: 20% more power + next level processing.

Meanwhile, the included Integration Interface Module is behind the head unit (very small footprint) minimizing the need to run the required optimal cable extensive lengths (for true digital-to-digital signal)

Much of the installation echos that of our non-jbl Solution, only incorporating more within the same footprint. Full Installation video is in the works. Will be included in an upcoming email blast.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. Truly!

We hope you don't mind us responding (we always strive not to interrupt the forum community dialogue with anything that may come off as a solicitation). Entertaining a supplement system that works alongside the JBL system (Like our other JBL Enhancements) is not completely off the table in the future. Nothing official at this time.

We definitely took a different approach with this Solution given the feedback we received over the years. It seemed the overwhelming attributes that the Tacoma JBL owners wanted was more Volume (Power), Superior Sound Quality (Tuning), and more controlled and/or impactful low-frequency (Subwoofer System). Working with the CAN-Bus network of the factory JBL and achieving this level of results required a plethora of provisions to be taken into account, to ensure no functionality or space was lost in the process. We developed a Solution that checks all these boxes and then some.

The aforementioned philosophy and sizable bill of materials did introduce a higher price than that of then our Enhancements offerings. However, it also accomplished results that exceed that of our previous solutions (which we do not say lightly) and affords our owners the seamless integration that we refuse to waiver from.

Again, thank you for expressing this side of the discussion.

Yes sir! We have essentially gutted the entire factory system, only in a plug-and-play package that can be installed in a few hours without the guesswork, loss of any functionality, esthetics, or space (respecting the CAN-Bus network infrastructure of the JBL factory system).

Thanks for bringing this unanswered question to our attention. Especially given the responsiveness of our team that you experienced prior. We would love to connect with you to address any open questions. In fact, we insist! Would you mind bumping any email thread you have going with our team so we can call or email you? Or send us a direct message and we'll contact you for the details. Thanks in advance.

I just can't imagine spending this much for audio upgrades and not doing it properly. MrMarv and helix solutions aren't much more and are light years ahead of this. Takes some work and learning though.

Which one are you referring to? I really don't care enough to read through 9 pages. I barely had the motivation to warn poor suckers just a bit ago.

If I’m spending upwards of $3,000 to upgrade my JBL system, then I’m getting rid of the crappy head unit and then would have no need for this OEM Audio JBL upgrade. Can’t see why anyone would want to spend $3,000 and keep the factory Toyota head unit.
