OEM Audio + installed the system in WILDPEAK truck.

I have pulled the trigger and ordered a 16 Sport TRD with the non JBL radio, should be here within 8 weeks.

If the install is similar to the one on the 2nd Gen, and it should, it shouldn't be too bad.

I have made arrangements with a local trim shop in my area to install leather in my truck when it comes in. I am going to have them remove the door panels, install the speakers, and install sound sound deadener as well.
I feel like it should be too bad of a job, but since they are going to have my truck and they are the professionals, I will let them do it. Last thing I want is rattling door panels!

Wiring and dash tweeters don't look to hard, I will tackle that task.

amazing how everything literally drops right in to replace the factory garbage. i can see myself dropping a bolt down into the dash when i try to install the tweeters lol

Just recently installed OEM Audio + and all I can say is it blows me away. It literally is like listening to some high end ear phones. I can hear sounds that I haven't heard before ! The clarity is real great. And would recommend this to anyone !! Easy to install and fast response from customer service !

Alright it's about time I say this.
I compared the OEM Audio+ side by side with the JBL. It doesn't compare.

I had one on an FRS previously, and it blows away just about anything for the price. the real nice thing is if you ever decide to sell the car, the remove back to stock is super simple and took me about 45min tops -- just FYI.

How much sound are you getting from the rear speakers?

Update, I've had the OEM Audio+ for several months now.

Volume. The system is much more powerful than the stock. Volume Level 20 to 30 is equivalent to 40+ stock, and no distortion at high volume either.

Clarity. Highs/Mids/Lows all super clear, no matter the genre of music.

Bass/Sub. It's not window shattering by any means but when you consider the enclosure size behind the seat, the sub is IMPRESSIVE to say the least. I tend to adjust the bass EQ sitting a little high and discovered that the enclosure rattles slightly due to contact between the rear of the enclosure and the plastic storage space, which I promptly corrected with a small piece of adhesive Velcro on the back of the closure. My truck is completely rattle free at high volume and high bass setting.

Overall I knew I was going to keep this truck a long time so I can confidently say this is a worthwhile investment for anyone who appreciates fine audio and plans to do the same.

    Cheers,
    Drew

This might be a nerd question, but has anyone listened to audiobooks or high quality podcasts on the OEM+ system? Curious how clarity/intelligibility is of recorded speech. I assume good, but, asking just in case.

Great question actually. I use audible by Amazon on the OEM Audio+ quite frequently. It's great, somtimes I lower the bass a bit but the voice clarity is perfect for audio books.

Excellent to hear (pun intended), thank you! I think great voice quality is hard to come by in autos.

I installed mine a couple of weeks ago.. How much volume are you getting from the rear speakers? I've noticed the front speakers present most of the volume and not as much from rear speakers. I've contacted OEM Audio+ and they're looking at it

I'm looking in to this system as well, what do you guys think. I had the JBL in my last truck and was pretty happy with it, my new 4x4 didnt come with jBL and I miss that sound quality and base

Can you take a picture of where you put the velcro strip? I was thinking about putting some weather stripping or maybe take off the plastic seat backing entirely because I'm hearing a lot of rattle with my set up. This sucker is loud!

I am so torn on this right now for my '17 DC. I had the OEM+ system in my tC and loved the front and rear speaker setup, that was a huge improvement. However, I like bass sometimes so I wasn't as happy with the sub. It sounded great for the small enclosure it was in, but it just wasn't enough for me. Maybe if they did a dual sub option like the Tundra, that could have been different.

That is why I am torn with the Tacoma - I really want the door speakers, amp and tuning from OEM+, but I don't really want their sub. I wished they did a dual sub system in the other panel behind passenger side. I may contact them and see if I can purchase a system without the sub then just add my own sub later to achieve more bass when I want it.
